I know I've seen others who have had this problem, but nothing seems to work.
I just signed up for a t-mobile account and purchased the Galaxy S 4G. I have an Unlimited Plan up to 2 GB of highspeed data.
When I try to receive a picture message, it says that it is downloading, yet it never completes.
When I try to send a picture message, it says "Currently unable to dowload. Please try again later."
I've tried checking to see if it's the other person, it isn't.
I've checked to make sure my settings are right...they are.
I've unchecked Wi-fi...nothing seems to be working.
We certainly want your picture messaging up and running, and I want to see if I can help. Do your settings match the following?
2. Touch Settings.
3. Touch Wireless & networks.
4. Touch Mobile networks.
5. Touch Access Point Names.
6. Touch the connection that is Active (Bulleted) to view its settings.
7. Verify the following:
Let me know if this works for you
Okay, I looked into that and my APN type says: internet+mms
Do I need to change this? Is so, how do I go about doing that?
We do certainly want to make sure the settings match what is posted above. if you cannot alter the settings, you will need to add a new apn and delete the old one. Do this by pressing menu from the Access Point Name screen, select 'new apn', and enter the settings above. To delete the prior APN, tap on the name of the APN, press Menu, then select delete APN.
Alright. I created a new one, and deleted the old one; however, even though I never set the APN type to anything, it automatically changed to internet+mms, after I saved it.
That's interesting, but with so many different versions of the Android OS, it may be built in. Did you get a chance to test it afterwards?
I did...the same thing happened.
Only, now I don't have internet without Wifi checked.
I'm so confused.
There are some additional settings on the phone that can affect your data. First, I would like you to turn off wifi, then check the following:
Those two are checked, and my internet isn't working.
Do you have a Data Connection icon in the Status bar (4G, 3G, 2G, H or EDGE), or is only the Signal Strength icon displayed?
Without Wifi, it's just the Signal Strength showing.
We are going to toggle your signal off and on - please take these steps:
You fixed it! You're my hero!
Awesome! Does that go for the picture messages too?
Yes! I guess the problem was that I didn't have internet while trying to send them.
