Nokia E73. I have wifi calling in my house and when I got home I got error J007 and cannot connect to wifi. Tried restarting and getting new certificate from the router but it does not work. It finds the network but will not logon. Can't find any reference to this error. My wife's blackberry works fine on he network.

I am having the same exact problem, today it began. whats going on with t mobile?

  • 2. Re: Error J007 Incorrect Security Certificate

It appears that Tmobile has deleted us from the network. I wonder if it is related to the message about nokia store not being available today

  • 3. Re: Error J007 Incorrect Security Certificate

how did you find this out? did you call t mobile? how can we fix this do you know?

  • 4. Re: Error J007 Incorrect Security Certificate

Both my husband and I have E73 phones and we are having the same issue that just started today. Both phones were running on our home wireless just fine yesterday.

Exact same thing here..... I tried calling T-Mobile but because of where I live & because the winds are really bad today, I got thru, started explaining my problem, then the call dropped. Called back a second time and was being connected when it dropped again. Then I just ran out of time and haven't called back since.

I called customer support and they said our phones needed a software update but the phone tells us that it has all the updates it needs. I got my husbands E73 to connect once but not mine. Then I lost the connection on is phone.  The cust service rep said she is unable to find out from Nokia where to get the latest updates, she gave me a number to call for Nokia 1-888-665-4228.

She also said that if all else fails, to back up your contacts and do a factory reset on the phone which will wipe it clean.

I am thinking that Nokia is having problems and it will work itself out, I hope.....

    Hey Everyone,

I've been searching for an answer and found one. Well for the time being anyway.

Go to Cntrl.Panel - Settings - Connection - Destinations - Access Point. When you get there it's going to ask you if you want to automatically check for updates, Select NO. Choose Packet Data then put in the Name of the Access Point. If you don't know it you can get it from your Network Provider. (this is all the person had written)

But it's going to ask you what you want to Connect to, Internet, WAN, GAN, and 1 or 2 others. I chose the option that my other saved networks were under which was GAN. It asked for my WEP Key, I put it in and it connected right away.

(one odd thing that happened was when it connected it showed my Network Info and (01) at the end of it. So now I have the original network & the (01) network saved. Not sure if it will be a problem at some point. But I'll worry about that when the time comes. Good Luck! Hope This Helps & Works for All of you.

    1) Verify if you sim card has a "TM" code on the side with the gold contacts.

    2) Verify what type of software version you are using by entering *#0000# from the home screen.

         a) If you need to back up your device:

How to backup and restore settings

Completing a back up on the Nokia E73 Mode will save the following:

    14. The software will install on the device and will power cycle when completed.
    15. Once the power cycle is complete, a message will indicate that the update has been completed

         c) Once the device is powered back on, complete a factory reset:

    How to restore factory settings

Restoring factory settings restores the original factory settings but may not erase phone content or e-mail accounts. To restore factory settings, follow these steps.

    1. Back up all necessary data on the internal memory.
    2. From the Home screen, select Menu.
    3. Scroll to and select Ctrl. panel.
    4. Select Settings.
    5. Select General.
    6. Scroll to and select Factory settings.
    7. Select Yes.
    8. Enter the lock code. The default lock code is 12345.
    9. Select OK.

Note: If you get the message “End all active calls and connections first.”, follow these steps:

    1. From the Home screen, select Menu.
    2. Scroll to and select Ctrl. panel.
    3. Scroll to and select Connectivity.
    4. Scroll to and select Conn. mgr.
    5. Select Active data connections.
    6. Scroll to web2go internet.
    7. Select Options.
    8. Scroll to and select Disconnect.
    9. Select Yes.

            d) Attempt to connect to the Wi-Fi network

Please let us know if this works.

    Hi adam_b

I have been surfing to find a solution to my problem Error J007 and was very happy to find your sollution but unfortunately it did not work for me. I live in South Africa and imported my phone, therefore I do not have a "TM" sim card. I want to connect to my home service which was never a problem with my Nokia E72. Do you maybe have any idea if there is a solution for me?
