APN Settings on Xperia X10

I do not have a data plan on my Xperia X10 because I am always near wifi and do no need it. Right now, I only have a Text Messaging plan. The default APN settings on my phone work perfectly, but it includes Internet and MMS, which I do NOT want because I want MMS *ONLY*. I do not want to be charged for data so I have set the "APN Type" field to "mms" instead of "default,supl,mms". My settings currently look liek this:

Name: T-Mobile US

APN: epc.tmobile.com

Port: 8080

Username: (leave this blank)

Password: (leave this blank)

Server: (leave this blank)

MMSC: http://mms.msg.english.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

MMS Proxy:

MMS Port: 8080

MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0 (don't know if this is important)

MCC: 310

MNC: 260

APN Type: mms

However, this does not work and my MMS is not sending at all.

How do I disable data but still enable MMS to go through?

    I dont know if you already fixed your problem yet. At least you can make simple phone call using Tmobile on xperia x10.

    I have xperia x10, and I have no signal bar. My plan is the monthly Tmobile plan. May I ask what plan of Tmobile do you have that help you to be able to use the phone to say... call someone?

    Please help! Thanks,

    Diamy: start by going to [settings] then [wirless & Networks] then [mobile networks] the [service providers] then [search networks] this might take a while and once you have a list choose T - Mobile if there is a choice, then choose the 3G network. (X10i does not have 4G.) you should now have a check mark on the network you chose. In the Search Mode on that same page touch the down arrow on the top right and choose [Select atomatically] so you never have to do this again. hit the back arrow at the bottom. Now choose [Access Point Names] if you do not see T-mobile GPRS the hit the bottom left button that looks like a window and select the + New APN. a list should come up and the fallowing should be in the fields to get your phone up and running.

    Name= T-Mobile GPRS

    Proxy[ nothing goes here]

    Port= [ nothing goes here]

    Username[ nothing goes here]

    Password[ nothing goes here]

    Server[ nothing goes here]

    MMSC[ nothing goes here]

    Authentication type [Choose NONE]

    APN type= type in [default,supl ]

    good luck, hope it work out for you.
