Hi, just wondering if I could get an iPhone-the new one because it is so awesome- and somehow get my SIM card unlocked in my Samsung Gravity, which is really old and since its a slider phone it is becoming an issue. You see it wont stay shut and I have only had it for about 14 months. I recently changed my plan and now I have a 3 year contract. I cant just switch over to AT&T so I can get an iPhone. So I was thinking maybe T-Mobile would let me get my SIM card unlocked and I could put it in a iPhone and then just keep paying for the service through T-Mobile. I guess it would be pretty ridiculous though cuz the iPhone would cost a ton if I did not purchase a plan. Well T-Mobile will have to do something very soon becuz my phone is breaking and I have done nothing to break it. I do text more than I talk but I am not obsessive about texting. Anyway, if anyone has any answers or suggestions please let me know. IrishRooster
You can put your SIM card in another phone that supports the full-sized T-Mobile SIM card. However, I believe the iPhone 4 uses a micro-SIM which is smaller. You can find T-Mobile micro-SIMs here - http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/Phones/cell-phone-detail.aspx?cell-phone=T-Mobile-Micro-SIM-Card
The ATT iPhone 4 will need to be unlocked. So be sure that it works with your T-Mobile micro-SIM before you actually purchase it.
And finally, non-T-Mobile phones may not support T-Mobile 3G or 4G speeds (most don't) so you will be browsing the web and using data on EDGE speeds.
