The past otas I'm referring to are fire the vibrant and behold ii btw.  the g2x in all honesty is starting to remind me of the behold ii,

Vibrant has never had an OTA.  You had to update through mini Kies.

This is 100% right. There was a post on the T-Mobile community page for RSA's yesterday. Since I work for T-Mobile i saw this as well. The OTA is v21e so it is the same version as the LG updater.T-Mobile also has it listed that if you do not want to do the OTA, to use the LG updater and update that way. This is a Official msg relased to all t-mobile employe's yesterday.

did you get this??   this appears to say it is ok to use the manufacturers update from tmobile.  which is not what you have said. which again comes back to the entire tmoble team is not on the sme page.

I did get it and it states that it's OK to tell customers about it but if they do the update tool and have issues to not call us but call LG. Plus it says in that same thing to not do an exchange but give them LGs number.

If there was no ota for the vibrant then what would you call the j16 update?  the j15 was the samsung kies version, whereas the j16 was tmobile's official release.

Tmo replaced mine after the updater screwed it up.  I paid 20 because I don't have insurance.  I found that okay since I had wasted more than that in my time trying to fix it.  I had the phone next day and it was a new LG-P999DW not a refurbished.

kalel33-almost everything you have posted here has shown to not be accurate as to what is actually occuring.  It may be that tmobile is changing policies minute by minute but it makes you look as an unrealivble source. at least us customers arent the only ones that dont know whats going on.

This is not meant to be offensive just a comment since you have seemed to want to challenge what i have been saying and each time it appears others post the same as what i have said that you have tried to debunk but than have posts backing up what i have said and are opposed to your responses.

I don't kalel works for tmobile.  Trading costumers like that would be instant termination.   Or at least I woulda think so.  Just someone trying to get peoples attention.

I meant I don't think kalel works for tmobile.  I'm using my g2x so I might have messed up

Some reps don't look up the information like they're supposed to.  There have been people posting here that the reps told them to go to LG because it was their update, because those reps were doing their job properly.  I actually looked it up again today at work and yes, I am correct on the support policy for the update done by the LG update tool.

You are right for that minor update.  The major update to 2.2 was done through Kies but was sanctioned and supported by T-mobile.
