    @mbaez53 :

Good you are getting a new phone with out paying anything...

You have been given incorrect information.. please check : http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-2624

If you recently purchased a new T-Mobile phone

You have 14 calendar days for discounted purchases with an annual plan at retail stores (30 in CA),  20 calendar days for online purchases via t-mobile.com, and 30 calendar days for full price purchases  from the date of purchase, to return purchased equipment to the point of purchase.

If you are within these timeframes, you dont have to pay anything. I paid in full for my phone and I am getting a new replacement as its within 30 days...

thanks everyone for your kind replies.......One more Question since I have to return this old phone by the12th on nov

does that mean as long as it's post dated by the 12th I will be fine......becourse I want to wait for the new one to Arrive.

Well you would want to wait until the phone arrives so that you have phone to use while you wait.  What if the phone gets lost in shipping and you've already shipped yours back?  If they are paying for shipping and they include a return label then its really easy.  Just slap that on the box and drop it off with ups.  I've even dropped off my return phone at a TMO store so it is in their hands for shipping and my account shows that I dropped it off at TMO.

As another point I like to add about refurbished phones.  Once your initial 20 days or whatever is up, manufacture policy is to ship you a refurbished phone.  It's not TMO that sets it but the manufacture as part of the warranty process.  If Samsung decides in its warranty that they will ship you a new phone then its on Samsung.  With HTC they ship you refurbished phones and you can wail away to the TMO rep but it is HTC who sets that policy and your getting a refurbished phone.   I would assume that all the manufactures work in the same way.  So if in 25 days you find that this replacement has a deffect, you might not get a new one.  I say might not because the phone is brand new so they have to build up a stock of returned phones, recertify them, and then use them for replacements.  In the mean time they will ship out new phones as that is what they have for replacements.

    Good luck with the replacement!

Thanks...They have already shipped the the and I an Assured that it will be a brand new phone ....That is why I am waiting before I ship my old one back.... Tmo has already given me a tracking number........From what I was told a few minutes ago I have seven days from the time I recieve the new phone to ship the old one back.  I would think since I will have the new one they know of this transaction and it will still be within my 20 days .....I was told I had until the 12th of nov....but now new CS tells me 7 days from when I get new one go figure...

  • 21. Re: charging me for returning defective phone.....

yes the phone is a nice upgrade from the vibrant....thanks for convincing me.....LOL   I owe it to you guys for making

me give it a chance...It really is not as big in my hand anymore..strange it seem to have gotten smaller....

  • 22. Re: charging me for returning defective phone.....

Yeah, you get used to it, however we still have a bigger screen than iphone and almost all other Android phones. I still have my Vibrant also. I look at the Vibrant and it does seem much smaller. It's a half inch smaller screen.

    Hi,

    same scenario

  • 24. Re: charging me for returning defective phone.....

I am trying to get my phone replaced- it has a manufacturer defect.. I have to say they did send me a new phone for my phone but it was the wrong color. So I returned it.. I dont like the white phones.  I called for them to send me a black one.... and they did.. but this one is refurbished. The screen protector was coming off and full of dust and I studied it- the label on the inside is not an original samsung label.

I am just not comfortable giving them my new original phone in exchange for a refurbished one.. AND I specifically asked the REP! she said "it is"... not "yes"...  Now I understand. She never mentioned the word refurbished. I just want a phone like the one I paid for.... NEW IN BOX...  This is maddening!
