SIM card is TM9177. This was an unpgraded phone to enable WIFI calling because I do not have reception at my home, and have never had. The only carrier with a signal in this area is Verizon and I am seriously contemplating changing because of this!

Moved to mytouch Q for proper categorization and best assistance.
So it was moved, what is the answer? If there is one!
Hello! I just got my phone yesterday and was having the same problem. I removed the SIM and replaced it and now it works!?!
They have replaced the SIM card and even tried it in a new phone, with the same result. Thanks for the help, but it's already been tried.
With the help of Jared with T-Mobile I now have been able to access my WIFI calling.
What did Jared do to correct it? Since my last reply, I've found I need to reboot my phone to get the WiFi calling to work. Wondering if that's "normal."
Rebooting to get the WiFi to work shouldnt be normal. Have you updated your SIM card?
I had the same issue today. When I got my new phone, I used the SIM card that I had. It was not updated for android, since my last phone was a Gravity3. Called T-Mobile, took the new card that came in the box, gave them the number and they activated it for me. Dont go to the store. They will tell you nonsense. Call and ask for Technical Support, then tell them you need to upgrade your SIM card for WiFi calling.
I have this problem.
1st issue - when I ordered, the lady on the phone said I would have no problem with service at home. WRONG - NO service within 20 miles of my home
2nd issue - she said I would be able to use Wifi Calling at home. WRONG
They first told me that I had to add it to my account. Didn't work.
Then they said I had the wrong SIM to begin with and had to get a new one.
I drove 80 miles this morning to my closest retail store to get a new one. Said it should work fine now.
Got home, STILL INVALID SIM. So I get online, since i have NO service at home, and the lady on the chat says it's a known problem that the Mytouch Q is not supporting the Wifi calling. Nothing they can do.
Oh, and I have to mail our phones back in for an exchange. Impossible since my husband is a truck driver and is gone all week and requires his phone pretty much on an hourly basis.
So i am stuck at home with no cell service and no way to call my husband except through the small burps of signal I can send a text through.
VERY UNHAPPY T-MOBILE.
You must have the only phone that works. I am jealous because I am still waiting for the software update.....
What did Jared do for you to fix the Touch Q REG02 invalid simmcard problem?
I am having the same issue, I just had customer service change over my SIM card to the one that came with my phone when I upgraded, and I am still getting the same errors? What have people been able to do to fix this? I have poor signal in my home as well and the wi-fi is a huge help. I never had an issue with my blackberry phone and using the wi-fi so I am having trouble understanding why it is an issue now?
I restarted my phone and it now seems to be working. We will see if it stays that way =)
What is even harder to understand is why some people get their phone to work by doing the simple, easy
things, and my phone still does not work......... Go figure
