T-mobile Galaxy tab subsidy unlocking.

I am not the resident of USA but wanted to buy the Samsung p6200 Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus(3g/4g version) paying to the T-mobile it's full retail price($500) and get the tab(Mostly because there isn't any 3G version of this tab in free sale on store like amazon). I have a question concerning the unlocking of the tab. There is an document (http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1588) that says that if i have purchased the product at it's full retail price then i can take the unlock code for free if i met both of this two criteria:

  • The device must have been purchased at a T-Mobile retail store or authorized T-Mobile retailer.
  • The device must be paid for completely. You must be able to fax the proof of purchase to T-Mobile.

1) What means here the retail store? What if i have purchased it online? Can i have an unlock?

2) If the purchase is made threw paypal payment system or similar how can i proof the purchase?

3) Am i able to purchase and use this tab wihout lock to t-mobile if my friend in USA sends me the product after he recieves it?

    Hey dzheyd!

Thanks for considering purchasing our Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0+!  I can definitely answer those questions for you.

    1) Retail stores or retailer means the store is a physical store and not on the internet.

    2) None of our retail stores or authorized T-Mobile retailers use PayPal or anything similar.

    3) If you friend purchases the Tablet at a T-Mobile retail store / authorized retailer for full price and completes the SIM unlock, you will be able to use the product in other countries.

It's also very important to check which frequencies your carrier runs their 3g network on.  T-Mobile uses the 1700/2100 MHz frequencies for our 3g network.  If the 3g network is on different frequencies, you won't be able to get 3g signal.

    Hope this helps!
