I haven't been on this forum for a while now, and just looking at the first page of posts today you'd think that tmo and the g2 are the worst things since the plague. Do any of you actually like this carrier and this phone? I for one love my g2 and I'm sticking with tmo for the price and coverage. In my area there aren't any better carriers for coverage or for the price I pay. As for the phone itself, I was starting to get bored with it until I figured out rootings and now with a custom ROM I'm more than happy with it again. I feel bad for all of you who either hate the phone or the company, why do you have either if you hate both?
kingston73, on behalf of TForce and T-Mobile thank you for your wonderful comments and so glad to hear you are happy with the G2! Thank you for your loyalty
Your not the only one King. I've been a loyal Tmobile customer for 10 years. I wouldn't even consider switching. Best price and coverage for my area (Atlanta). As far as the G2 is concerned, I love the phone but I'm considering switching to the Samsung Gravity S2. Its just too awesome. I will miss the G2s keyboard though.
I love my G2 and am fine with T-Mobile. My only issues are that Wifi Calling doesnt work reliably and Tmobile coverage in my neighborhood in Las Vegas is non existant for some reason. If they could fix one of those two items they'd make me into a long life customer...
I'm on board. I admit, the G2 has some foibles, but over all I couldn't ask for a better phone (at least for my needs). As for TMobile, well, I admit there are some company policies that I have questioned in the past, but in general their customer service has been great and their reps have been accomodating, responsive, and genuinely helpful.
Absolutely not, I too can't get away from it.
I was a "pay as you go" T-Mo customer for 2+ years prior to becoming a regular customer it 2006. I've worked my way up from Razr's to W490's to Windows phone to Cliq's to the G2. I've seen other hardware from other companies that I would like to have but as T-Mo stood by me and gave me an account (coming of extended unemployment) way back then, I'll stick with them which is actually an easy decision as there's no better company.
I have a Cliq and Cliq 2 which I used to love but the G2, even though not perfect, continues to blow the Cliq's out of the water.
I keep trying to leave it but it won't let me. Next to try is a rooted Milestone A853. I need a backup anyway.
I'm betting most people like their G2... it's just that most people won't search out a forum to post if they don't have some kind of issue.
I LOVE the G2. It's just a great little phone. Slightly OT but I'm liking TM a little less and less as time goes on. Their 4G coverage was just okay in my area but good enough. These past few months I can drive and have the phone loose data and then come back with "2G". This happens several times every week. But you get what you pay for and 90% of the time the connect is very good.
To be honest I love my G2. I haven't had any rebooting problems like others have had. Other than the screen freezing up once or twice in the 10 months I've had this, it's been a great phone.
I like my G2 a lot too. I have not had a lot of trouble with it. The minor updates fix the issues I did have. I did have to reluctantly exchange one G2 because the charging 'dingle' broke but other than that, its a good phone. Its too bad that TMO stopped selling the phone. I have great 4G in the area that I work and live. And i noticed the other day that I had 4G in a area where I had not had before. Also the other day I overheard a Verizon customer say that he was so happy to get 4G in the area....I laugh and said, TMO has had 4G in this are a couple of years now...he looked at me like I was joking....lol.
i have been with tmo for almost 5 yrs and will never switch! the customer service i have experienced has been excellent and the staff who work in our local store are wonderful. i do like my G2 but am also thinking about getting the galaxy s2 as well. i am disappointed that the g2 is already discontinued as i have only had mine for about 10 mos...if they are going to update it then i will probably just keep it
Despite the failed AT&T sale (and the $3 billion... thank you), DT _will_ be selling TM. So you will be "switching".
