Great Suggestion! Thanks for the input.
I can't send sms messages. I get a generic error message with the ! "Failed delivery"
I can receve them. I've cleared the memeory from ram in the task manager. Going to try a sim swap with the wife tomorrow :-p
Any other thoughts?
Thanks for the help and consideration.
A sim swap is an awesome idea if you can't send but can recieve it can be your service center number if you can post what phone you have I can tell you how to check it.
The last 2 days "failed" sent texts have gotten worse. I'm showing 4 bars 4G as well. Is there maybe something up with the network, or is it just the phone? I don't see there's a fix yet for this post.
I am having the same problem, will t-mobile/samsung please address this? It occurs randomly and rebooting or switching in and out of airplane mode seems to be the only way to fix.
To jjhere and tsmonk, there had been some network issues regarding text messaging within the last 2 days. However, those have all recently been resolved. The phone rebooting and going into airplane mode is not normal tsmonk. If you are still seeing issues feel free to contact me. I would be more than happy to help both of you. I would need the following information.
Your mobile number
Detailed description of the issue (what you have here is fine unless you want to add anything)
private message me by clicking my name and then the "send private message" on the right
Thanks for contacting T-FORCE.
I'm a bit disturbed that this "failed" text issue has been going on since November. Had I known I'd have reconsidered the purchase. My daughter and I both have the Samsung Exhibit II 4G and I since Friday (12/9) the number of "failed" messages has increased til this morning I received 2 messages that say "failed"! Can someone explain that? I tried the clearing of the ram and then removing and replacing the battery and it didn't make a change. I need a fix for this asap. I use this for work. Help!
Text messaging is important. We had been having network issues with messaging last weekend, but these have since been resolved. If you want to send me some additional information I would be happy to look into this for you since its happening with both of your phones.
Your mobile number
Just wanted to say that everything is working fine with my phone now. It was only on Friday December 9th that I had the "failed send" issue. I do attribute that to the network. Every carrier has network issues every once in awhile but T-Mobile fixed it right away. Thanks T-Mobile.
I have had this phone since November 1st and the failed send message everyone here is talking about has been happening to me since the first week and has been consistent every week. It doesn't happen a lot, perhaps 4-5 messages per week but when it does it is a big hassle. If this is a network issue it has been ongoing for 42 days.
Also the airplane mode/reboot issue is not an issue. What tsmonk meant is the only weay to get the failed message to send is to either reboot or switch in and out of airplane mode and the message gets sent. I too had figured out those tricks and they work.
I am not accepting the network issue as the culprit. Unless this issue has been affecting all phones then it is obviously this phone that is part of the problem.
Thankfully Wal-mart has an awesome Christmas return policy that applies to purchases made starting on November 1 to allow retrns into January. I plan to return this crappy phone very soon...
I can understand. The network issue was a couple of days, no as long as you have been having the issue. I know its important to have a phone working ok with no issues. I have some additional steps if you would like to try them.
Tap messaging>>tap menu>>tap settings>>tap input mode>>tap automatic if not already selected Test to see if resolves the issue.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
This is definitely not an isolated temporary network problem. Nor is it a SIM problem since it's affecting so many people. Nor is it a settings problem, since I just checked the settings you describe, and Automatic was selected. My phone has this problem pretty much every time I have an ongoing text conversation with someone. It is worse when I try to send long messages, but happens with short ones too. It happens on my husband's phone as well - we both got our phones from Amazon. This has been happening since we got the Exhibit II on Nov 21.
I wouldn't go so far as to say this is a "crappy" phone like jmunjr. I love the phone other than this one issue. But this problem is kind of major and needs to be fixed.
I have had the same problem since i turned on the phone for the first time. I would estimate that 1/5 messages sent are returned with the error. Sometimes the error happens multiple times in a row, which is incredibly frustrating. One word messages are just as likely to get rejected as any other message <160 char. in lenght. I have never been able to successfully send a message over 160 characters, unless i convert to a multimedia message. This needs to be fixed i can barely hold a conversation.
I believe I have finally found a solution! The key seems to be the message input mode:
I switched from Automatic to Unicode (Messaging>settings>input mode) and tried to send a few messages.
I was told that the messages appeared as "☐☐☐☐"
I then switched back to Automatic and the “Message Failed” error ceased completely. Before the problem was rather severe with roughly 1/5 of every message sent rejected.
I hope this helps everyone, good luck!
Settings-> applications - > manage-> all-> scroll down to messaging-> clear data. Turn off/on the device and try to see if it works. try this i did it and it seem to work good luck
