Thanks so much for your posting we want to make sure you can connect all your devices to your hotspot, now because you are able to connect with the windows 7 computer it's apparent that the hotspot is not the issue but we would like to help if we can, are you getting any kind of error message when trying to connect or trying to browse the internet?
No error message, it connects but I get "Local access only"
I try running diags and repair, but does not change anything.
I've checked all the properties, everything seems fine.
When I plug in with the USB cable, I get internet access, although I think I'm not communicating using the WI-FI but rather over the USB cable.
I was having the same problem. it's a matter of "latest equipment vs Vista". Log into T-Mobile Hotspot while connected via USB. Go to settings-security, set security to AUTO-WEP, set encryption to WEP, keep basic password or change to suit. Exit Hotspot. Reset connection properties on laptop through Start/Control Panel/Network and Sharing. Select "Manage Network Connections from menu on left. Right click on appropriate connection and select properties. Reset Security to Shared, reset encryption to WEP, enter same pasword as on Hotspot. This should solve connectivity issues. Good luck.
This is correct, Vista does have some problems connecting to WPA security types.
Vista's Service Pack 2 should resolve these problems. If not, stevekon has the best available workaround.
