I got my S2 like 2 weeks ago, I've been using it and seen couple problems appearing up randomly and intermittenly without cause, anybody seen the below issue list? how can I report the problem to T-Mobile or Samsung for a fix?
1. counted total 4 times during the 2 weeks that the phone for no reason reboots and restarts itself, seens like it crashed?, the phone was on with the screen off, I just felt a vibration and took it out of my pocket and saw it rebooting itself.
2. sometimes after recharge, the battery percentage just stays at 100% unless I reboot the phone even though the "real" battery percentage is already being used to like maybe 40% or lower, i've seen it like 3 times already, I had "android booster" app installed, not sure if that matters, My old HTC sensation was ok witht the same software installed
3. the included web browser seems flaky, when you scroll up/down, the graphics or webpage rendering is not smooth, it shows some black and white square mosiac on the sides and the "letters" just seems to flicker when you scroll, I tried Dolphine HD web browser and didnt' see the problem
4. sometimes my pattern lock screen didn't recoginze my finger smoothly as I "glide" across the screen with my lock pattern, it "jumps" dots, not connecting the dots as it supposedly
I think so far that all that I encountered, I really liked the S2's AMOLED, bettery signal, light weight, great construction and simpler more intuitive touchwiz interface (in my opinion) over my old HTC sensation, but HTC's phones are truly more stable when compared with the S2. and I sort of missed the wifi-calling feature, hope they have an update soon for all my complaints
I might go change out another S2 if nobody sees my problems, maybe I got lucky and got a galaxy "lemon" S2
I have my phone for 10 days and the rebooting is getting more prevelent. Called tech support and they said return the phone. I will just due that.
Number 1, random reboots. I had these two-three times a day for 10 days. Returned phone under remorse and got a new one. No reboots for the four days I have had the new one.
I do not see any of your other issues with my new phone and not on the returned one either.
What are the production dates for the reboot phones? Mine is 10/01 and so far so good. No battery or reboot issues thankfully.
The new one is 9/28/2011. Don't know what the other one was.
Seems that the 09/28 and or 09/27 dates have had the issue. Not sure if an employee forgot to do something those days..lol
Seems that when people exchange them for a new phone it fixes the issue. You can never tell as my Vibrant was working good or months and then it started to do the random shutoffs. I think it has to do with processor overheating. That phone also had a SnapDragon processor in it. The AT&T Captivate also has a big issue with shutdowns. My g/f has that phone and it does still shutdown from time to time. You would think Samsung would have this issue resolved by now. That's tech for you.
My battery percentage stays at 100% and does not drop lower until a reboot. Anything less than 100% and it comes down fine, but if I get to 100% it stays there!
I have reboot issues just once, and the date on the box is 9/28.. And yes I see the black white squares in the browser while scrolling, after it complete loading it looks great. I've had this phone for a week and that is the only problem
I've seen, before this I had the g2x, that phone had Mind of it's own, possessed..
I do have one problem, sometimes when charging,I can't use it, it has happened a couple times. The charger that came with it takes a long time to charge the phone. Had same problem on g2x, bought different charger and no problem. This is a great phone. Should I return and get different phone, even though it has only turned it's self of once.and the problem when charging.
Have you installed any apps on the phone and then noticed the shutdown soon after?
No not right after, but some of the apps when I press the home button it reloads the home screen. I did delete a few apps that I got since it did it. So I'll see if that works
Well my phone bricked this afternoon. Got A new one and doing the setup again. Not a happy camper
I have the same issue when scrolling on some pages, the black and white square mosiac shows, only when scrolling or zooming, really annoying. Have you solved that problem? Or do anyone know what that is? I have no problems with other browsers, only the default.
I updated to android 2.3.5, can't remember that I had that issue before that..My girlfriend has version 2.3.3 and there's no problem for her.
I have the battery issue. Battery shows 100% all day long then phone dies unexpectedly. I uninstalled battery life watchers and task managers as those are usually the culprits, but still have the same issue. I complained to a t-mobile store and they swapped out the battery and it made no difference. I cannot trust the battery meter at all.
Regarding issues with the battery charge showing 100%, we have a troubleshooting document available that can help with that situation. Please take a look at Battery shows full: Samsung Galaxy S II.
