Yup, I kept the phone because TMO said they would have the update out "soon" My fault is believing them.
As for tomorrow...
Wasn't this your quote: "FYI, TMO has said 'soon' before and it was 6 months (MT3G Froyo update). so you better start extending your definition of soon."
History is on my side of this thing and you know it. Dont' try to tell me that "soon" means 2, 4, 6 or more months either.
it could be 1 day to 6+ months. I could probably tell you more times that a 'soon' update took months rather than weeks.
TMO is not holding back on the release and laughing, when it's ready, it will be pushed out.
The one you want to refer to for anything official is the official T-Mobile fb page https://www.facebook.com/TMobile
Most other fb pages are going to be imitators and/or established by non-affiliated parties. Sorry for any confusion you experienced over this topic - rest assured we are actively testing the Wifi Calling feature as a top priority, and when the software update is ready to go (for both Amaze and for Galaxy S II), it will definitely be communicated.
That's pretty cool maybe we can have the update on christmas like a gift =) I Think it would be funny if a new phone came out with WiFi calling and we still had no update that would crack me up lol good times.
Do the new myTouch and myTouch Q have WiFi calling.
I just went to the T-Mobile shop, and selected Android, 4G, and Wi-Fi calling as the features I wanted. Previously, the Amaze and Galaxy S2 weren't appearing when I checked Wi-Fi calling. Now they do. So, I'd assume that as of today, those two phones do support Wi-Fi calling, but I haven't seen any kind of announcement to that effect. Just a surprise when I did the search. I won't be able to get to a store in the next few days, but I'd be interested to find out what anyone's store experiences are after today regarding wi-fi calling.
Both of those phones do support wifi calling, as IMS is built into the phone, but the Wifi Calling feature is not enabled and visible on the phone currently. That is what the software update will do.
The software update is in testing and has not yet completed that testing process for either phone. Still a top priority and will be released as soon as it's successfully completed testing and ready for prime time.
I will notify our web team that the website is potentially misleading on this aspect - thanks for letting me know what you're seeing out there.

So, I assume your talking about the Amaze and Galaxy S2, but what about the myTouch and myTouch Q? They both show up in the T-Mobile online store with 4G, Android and WiFi Calling selected. Do they have operation WiFi calling at the moment? If so, I'd have to assume it is the new IMS based WiFi calling.
Yes, i was able to confirm that both of the new myTouch models have wifi calling utilizing IMS.

Strange that the new mytouch phones have IMS wifi calling but the Amaze and GS2 still don't. Seems like the top 2 devices should have it after a month of "testing".
Well, I guess that's good news, since that would indicate that the network side infrastructure is in place and working, and it really is just handset software we're waiting on. Hopefully it'll be released/enabled soon.
TMobile dropped the ball on this one, they release 2 flag ship phones at the same time not complete its tragic, now phones coming out have wi-fi calling and a phone i purchased a month ago still doesnt have it, I know tmobile is reding this so hurry up and get on it, we need that feature well some of us at least.
Yep, we're on it. Testing is underway and as soon as the wifi calling feature successfully passes on the Amaze and Galaxy S II, it will be released.
Exactly right - the feature works just fine in general and specifically on those two other phones; it's compatibility with the unique components within the Amaze and Galaxy S II that is being tested at this point. Once it passes, the sw update will be available.
So, will T-Mobile ship me a loaner myTouch till the software update on the Amaze is released?
I can dream, right? Right!?
