    SD Card

My Amaze 4g dosen't recognize that my SD card is installed in my phone.  SD Card, Total Space "unavailable."  Available Space "unavailable."  Will a factory reset fix this issue?

Did you try formatting your card from the phone?

Thanks for the help. No.  How do I do format the card?

Hmmm, good questions as it looks like the options have changed.  Usually you'd go to settings, SD and phone storage and there would be a button to format.

Thanks.  I didn't see a format botton either.

You would choose "Erase SD Card" but that option is not available unless you first click "Unmount SD Card".

If it doesn't recognize the card, be sure to click the "Mount SD Card" option instead.

                    Thanks, brandt.

Total space is "unavailable."  Available space is "unavailable."  I can't select either the "Mount SD card" or the "Erase SD card' options.  They are both grey.

Take the SD card out and put it back in. It seems like it's not being recognized at all for some reason. Then check the mounts in the settings to see if it says that it's mounted or not. Let me know what happens and I'll do what I can to help!

                        Thanks for the help.

I removed the SD card and put it back in.

When the phone powers up there are two brief messages:

"Preparing SD card" and then "Removed SD card."

I have tried this several times.

I Googled around a bit and it seems that people just replace their microSD card with something newer and the issue goes away.

Thank you, that was what I was thinking.  I'll let you know if that fixes the problem.

On these HTC Amaze phones, you need to format the SD card before you can use it.

Make sure though if you do format it, that you format it with the fat32 file system. NTFS will not work. If you have a card adapter to be able to plug it into your pc, look at the card's properties and see which format the card uses. If it isn't fat , then reformat it with fat32 option and try again. If you need help finding this information, message me and I'll talk you through it.
