    Wifi calling

Who do you turn on Wifi Calling?

if there's no app in your app drawer that says WiFi calling then the feature is not enabled yet.  you may need to call TMO to figure out if the Amaze has that turned off.

otherwise, just go into your WiFi settings and connect to a WiFi network .. WiFi calling should pop on or at the very least you will have to click on the WiFi calling app and set it to on after connecting to a network.

The manual says there is Wifi calling, the site doesn't list it as a feature, the guy at tmobile said it had it (they usually know nothing though) I don't have it... :\ bought it because I thought it had it, and I need it.

Ok, so wifi calling is not available for this phone at this time, though HTC is working on an update that'll include wifi calling for this phone. No ETA.

Hmmm...that's odd. Was that from customer service, or from somewhere online?

Tech support with T-Mobile, although this sounds legit that was it was read to me, someone has an Amaze that has an older version and has wifi calling, so they took it out at some point apparently.

Currently both Amaze and SGS2 do not have Wi-Fi calling. If you do a compare phones on the T-mobile web site  it will show that both SG 4g and HTC Sensation have it but not Amaze and SGS2. It will need a software update from T-mobile and there is no time line or committment. It could take a few months or go in to next year. I thus did not buy it and will not buy it until some one reports they have used Wi-Fi. I long ago stopped believing the CSR of any company. They are school drop outs who are expected to read a written script. The only problem is that the script was written assuming the Wi-Fi would be working. We thus get conflicting information. A well informed customer who reads these forums would not have jumped in to this on the word of T-mobile CSR.

someone had it on their phone, but like i mentioned the guy in this thread got the phone with a different version

That's just odd. Wonder why they're doing that. I don't use WiFi calling, so it's not a big deal to me, but I can see why it may be a deal breaker for some. Hopefully there aren't any other missing tidbits.

The Wi-Fi Calling feature for the Amaze will be much better, hence the longer wait. It will be available soon though!

                                Brandt,

What's soon?  One month, two, 1 year?  Soon to me is within days.

I'd like to know this also. I bought the Amaze with WIFI calling in mind as I have spotty cell service at my home and also want to make WIFI calls when I travel abroad.

Can someone at T-Mobile supply actual FACTS on when this will be available?

If I give you a date when it's not 100% confirmed and the update slips, then it makes T-Mobile and I both look bad. Once I do have a solid date, I will let you know! I have the Amaze 4G myself (just got mine yesterday) and I'm waiting for the update too!
