1 - Disable "Use Wireless Networks" - Settings / Location & Security
2 - Dial *#*#1472365#*#*
3 - Under "Application settings" Change "Operation Mode" to MS Based
4 - Under "SUPL/CP Settings" Change the SERVER & PORT to supl.google.com and port 7276 [ Do not use www. in front of supl]
5 - REBOOT
6 - Turn back on the "User Wireless Networks"
if you are on 2.2 (froyo) it is *#*#3214789650#*#*

Didn't work for me...Been battling with Tmo since January. We troubleshoot every time I call them. GPS restore doesn't work for me either. So frustrating!!!
then you have an antenna issue, inside the phone--
there are lots of how to videos on youtube on how to jury rig it..
but... I would much rather spend $100 on a GPS vs. breaking my phone to fix the GPS
I agree... not a fan of tinkering with the inside. Been with Tmo for 8 years and currently have 3 lines with them. Been troubleshooting since Jan and it's all documented. They keep giving me the run around finally my warranty has expired and they want me to buy a new phone.
Can't understand why they couldn't just send me a replacement when it was in warranty!
problem is... the new phone = same problem as yoour current phone
I decided a while back to make the best of my phone, become a subject matter expert on the phone and help as many people as I could
Is rooting it an option or is the antenna the culprit?
I just sent my phone back to samsung. I described the issue I'm having with GPS and they confirmed it's a defect.
From what I've heard on the forums, I'm probably going to get the phone back and it still won't work. I figure three rounds of this and I'm out of my T-mobile contract. Then it's iPhone time.
Hello, I'm exa-ordinarily frustrated with my GalaxyS GPS.
I have gotten to step 2 - Dial *#*#1472365#*#*
As soon as I hit the last * the whole number/code disappears and I can't 'call' it. So I cannot make it to the LbsTestMode menu. How do I go about fixing this?!
Any help appreciated.
what android version are you on 2.1 or 2.2?
