You know I am not sure Bradley if that Means they are going to get the more Budget friendly iPhone 4 and 4s. However, to be honest- at this point. It is insane that the iPhone has not come to T-Mobile and I cant help but wonder if AT&T and is doing this on purpose to put a nail in T-Mobiles Coffin. and iPhone would work great on T-Mobiles HSPA+ network and I think that scares AT&T. They must in some small part be in bed with each other on this. I don't know a single person who is happy with AT&T and the iPhone but everyone just deals with them. Yet T-Mobile cant ever get away with dropping calls. Its like the Blue Death Star can do no wrong.
I don't get it. I am happy with my androids. But this is America, and I shouldn't have to be pigeon holed into being forced to use a certain network if I want a certain phone. Quite frankly, forcing me to not have choice in my cell phones and providers IS UNAmerican!
I'VE SAID MY PEACE AMEN!
Mainly that I'll likely buy my next phone retail and opt in to the tmobile non-substidized phone plans. And feel screwed.
Well, my next phone will either be a Samsung Galaxy S2 or an iPhone. TMo may carry the S2, but they've changed it from the original, apparently .. not the european model but one customized for TMo. From the pix I've seen, the TMo version is not as lovely as the original. The current european S2 is seriously light, has a to-die-for design, and yet has a huge screen plus likely more capable than the iPhone.
BUT the iPhone 5 could be really great, we'll see.
In neither case does TMo help.
Its really sad 'cause TMo in my experience is miles ahead of the rest of the US carriers. I'm hoping the non-substidized phone plans work out.
I don't plan on leaving, I need GSM for europe usage. It is a MOBILE phone, right? And TMo's plans are great.
I was extremely angry that the CMO dismissed the iPhone 5 so easily. I mean Deutsch Telekom (T-Mobile's Parent Company) has carried the iPhone for years in Europe. Why not here? I contacted T-Mobile's customer service to find out the e-mail address of Cole Brodman Chief Marketing Officer and this is the outcome. "Zachery B: I do apologize, but you are not able to email that person. We do not have contact information for that." I informed him that someone of that stature in a huge corporation should have an e-mail address. He then told me "Unfortunately, you are only able to contact our customer relations department to file a complaint. You can write a letter to our Customer Relations department
I sent this e-mail to them all as well as the chat transcript:
Hello Mr. Brodman,
I have been a loyal customer of T-Mobile for quite a long time (Close to 10 years). Recently you announced that T-Mobile would not carry the iPhone 5 however Sprint and the other networks will be carrying it. I have patiently waited for years for T-Mobile to carry it, especially since Deutsch Telekom carries the iPhone in Europe. I feel this is a huge (and I mean HUGE) dis-satisfaction to all of your customers. Over 1 Million customers on your network are running a jailbroken/unlocked iPhone, all of which have wanted to be legitimately on your network.
That being said, myself and others have decided to move off of T-Mobile and switch to other carriers that will carry the iPhone. I never thought one product would be a deciding factor in switching. Unfortunately your poor decision is the actual reason I will be switching.
Do you realize the amount of money you could be making if you did carry this product?
I do hope you have received a lot of e-mail regarding this poor decision.

@ Backspaces - I have thought about it. However the expense of an iPhone 5 seems to be no different than my owning my unlocked/jailbroken 3GS. Only benefits would be having facetime and some other stuff. Other than that, I heard the new iPhone 5 will not work on the Edge Network. And to be honest, I do not especially care for AT&T. I live close to the beach in L.A. and AT&T signal doesn't work in my home. So here I am, angry at the dumb C.M.O. for single-handedly destroying any hopes of us on the T-Mo network getting it.
On the flipside, they may however carry this so-called iPhone 4s, which I understand to be dual band (GSM and CDMA). But the question is, is this all BS or is it going to not have all the bells and whistles. Who knows...
But thanks for the compliment.
What does no Tmobile Iphone 5 mean for me?
The incentive to move to greener pastures.
For me, data coverage is priority number one, voice is second. Here in Orange County, California, T-Mobile's data coverage is pretty spotty and I've been looking at other carriers for a while now.
To me, T-Mobile's selection of smartphones is not that impressive, although there are a couple newer phones that are pretty nice. Besides the media capabilities of smartphones, they are a tool for me. With the exception of a few Android apps, the only apps available for my line of work are for Iphones, period.
Will the Iphone 5 be the absolutely best smartphone out there? Maybe, maybe not, but right now it looks like my new smartphone to be and the Iphone 4 will be my wife's first smartphone. I feel the no Iphone announcement shows what direction T-Mobile is going and it looks like a downward spiral.
Why have u waited this long to make the switch? I don't see all the hype around iphones. I've nevet had one nor had any desire to own one. Not having the iphone5 on Tmo makes me sleep easier, knowing jack-wagons aren't camping outside of stores on release day, like it's going to be something to tell your grandkids about. When the iphone5 does drop, 2-3 mos. there will be a new hottter phone out that will be just as good. People get hurt grabbing those new iphones, never heard of some getting KO'd for a g1,g2, or g7.
Personally, I am very discouraged with T-Mobile's continued emphasis on not signing a deal to offer the iPhone. I have an iPhone 3GS and have been using it on the T-Mobile network since the iPhone 4 came out. I have been waiting for a T-Mobile iPhone for far longer.
I was considering leaving T-Mobile for the iPhone, but there is great evidence that the iPhone 5 will come to T-Mobile, whether they want it or not. Albeit, not immeadiately when the iPhone 5 is released, but maybe later in the device's existence. The only thing is: T-mobile has the best plans [for long-existing] customers around, and switching, even for the iPhone 5, would not be feasible at this time.
However, I cannot wait for T-Mobile to get "absorbed." Then I will get better coverage in places like: my home, and my workcenter. That was a big selling point of staying with T-Mobile: the coverage will get better.
Anyways, the iPhone 5 being on T-Mobile's network (even their 3G network), would be fantastic. But at this time, I'm not going to switch to a different carrier just for this device. Unless of course something happens, and T-Mobile will no longer be "absorbed" by the carrier that they initially said they would be. But that is a different story for another rainy day.
I don't know how many times it has to be said... TMOBILE WANTS THE IPHONE.. APPLE HAS YET TO GIVE IT TO THEM!... I am sure this is a tactic by AT&T..
Secondly, once AT&T Absorbs T-Mobile you in 1-2 years say goodbye to TMobiles Coverage, as they will force all TMOs customers on to AT&Ts network. WHich is already at capacity.. But lets throw on another 33 million.. So they can re-purpose TMOs spectrum to LTE.
So expect your service to get WORSE not better. I suggest you switch to AT&T now, because their are more people fighting this merger than are for it. And the only ones that are for it have been getting cashed stuffed into their pockets from the death star..
Why are you a TMO customer? Obviously you are not loyal to the customer and don't represent why people are on TMO... Its because they want GSM, and don't want to deal with AT&Ts ****.
If you think this merger is such a good idea, I suggest you do research on what happened to Bell South. What a HOT MESS that was. AT&T gets bigger by being buying other companies and buying business.
I say you switch now if you love AT&T.... Like I say about AT&T... Fewer bars in more places!
FYI- this does have a spell check....
Ok everyone, I have e-mailed Tim Cook CEO of Apple. Hopefully I get a reply. And hopefully Gramps won't have something smart to say again. To be honest, at least it's more than we all have seen him do about this issue. Here is a copy of the e-mail sent minus the e-mail exchange between myself and Cole Brodman :
Hello Mr. Cook,
Recently I had an e-mail exchange with the CMO of T-Mobile Mr. Cole Brodman regarding his recent statement that T-Mobile would not carry the highly anticipated new iPhone. To be completely honest with you I am a huge Apple fan, and have been since before the introduction of the iMac. I have been using a jailbroken/unlocked phone and really want to be legitimately on a network. However, I refuse to be on AT&T or Verizon, since the signal strength is very low at my home. I live in the L.A. area so it is pretty covered by cell towers, but I still get poor reception. Back to the reason I am writing. Mr. Cole Brodman stated to me, that Apple is the one refusing to allow T-Mobile to carry the iconic device.
What I do not understand is if the Parent Company of T-Mobile Deutsch Telekom carries this product, why not allow it to be on T-Mobile? The other thing I do not understand is why sell yourselves short in revenue? I understand there is the whole merger/acquisition thing, but even if this does go through, why not try to lock more people into a long term contract with your device?
Attached is a copy of the e-mail correspondence between Mr. Cole Brodman and myself.

Yesterday I went to the TMO store and to my surprise they have the micro-sim cards that are only used for the iPhones. I spoke to one of the sales people there and he stated "On tuesday Apple will decide if they are going to allow TMO to have the iPhone." He also stated "If they recieve an iPhone device it will either be the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S or both." I just find it odd that they are carrying these micro-sims that are only used in iPhones and there is still a mystery of if TMO is getting the iPhone... I honestly think they are getting the iPhone but keeping it a mystery because it is simply great advertising once the iPhone comes out to have everyone in a frenzy...I could be wrong though.
