Thank you very much for the reply to my question. My Xiaomi Mi3 ( TD-SCDMA) is an unlocked phone that I bought it from China. I have put a T-Mobile SIM card in it, and it can recognize the T-Mobile network, but cannot connect to it. I am wondering if I can use T-mobile 2G networks to make phone calls.
Yan, I'm sorry to hear that things are still not working for you. Just to make sure, this was a brand new sim that you're using, correct. If not, please contact us over live chat, the phone or a store and we'll look into getting a new sim card activated on that number. http://support.t-mobile.com/community/contact_us
Thanks a lot for replying my question.
I put a brand new sim in my Xiaomi Mi3 phone, but I don't how to change the APN to match those of T-Mobile. Here is the list of APN settings:
Name: T-Mobile US
APN type: mms
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMS proxy: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS port: 80
Authentication Type: PAP or CHAP
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
APN enable/disable: enable
Please help me to change the setting to use 2G of T-Mobile to make phone calls.
Many thanks again.
Hi yan2000. Unfortunately we don't have familiarity with that particular device, so I am not exactly sure how you would enter in the APN's or change to the 2G Band. I would recommend checking for a path along the lines of Settings >Wireless and Networks >Mobile Networks >Access Point Names. That is the route to take on most devices I've encountered. You may be able to speak with the manufacturer or get a hold of a user manual for the device. I also just want to make sure, not only is your T-Mobile SIM card new, but is it active with a T-Mobile phone number already?
