Galaxy Tab not connecting to Wi-Fi at home

My Galaxy Tab connects easily when I use my T-Mobile Galaxy S' Mobile AP.  At home however I cannot connect my iMac's AirPort.  The Galaxy Tab recognizes the device/Wi-Fi network but it continuously switches from "Connecting..." to "Disconnected".

Any help on getting this to permanently connect would be great.  Thanks much.

Record the mac address of your tab under settings and enter it into your airport.

I am having the same problem trying to connect to Wi-Fi at home.  Sitting next to my router, the tablet lists the router for my home computer but when I try to connect I first get  connecting, then scanning, then disconnected.  I tried using the wireless passcode which is different from the router passcode and get the same thing.  What am I doing wrong?  Do I have my settings set wrong?

    gersalv,

I have had this happen with my Android phone many times. One of two things always fixes it. I either have to reboot my phone/tablet or I have to reboot my home network. It seems to have something to do with the router not assigning an IP address correctly to the device. Hope that helps.

Thanks k.d. but I dont know how to reboot my tablet.  I tried rebooting my router by unplugging the power cord and the computer cord for 2 minutes then replugging them.  When I reconnected I got slightly different messages but the same result - disconnected.  I learned from TM support that as a prepaid customer with an unlocked phone I am able to purchase a day pass for internet connection from TM for $1.49. I did that and it works, but I should not have to do that at home or at other hot spots.  I just got this tab (UK version w/voice) 2 weeks ago and have not tried the WiFi outside yet.  The phone voice is perfect everywhere.  Can you give me any other help?

    gersalv,

Really a reboot for the tablet would be to turn it off and then back on. The Wi-Fi shouldn't be affect by it being a non T-Mobile Galaxy Tab. To me because it does work when you use your Galaxy S as a Mobile Hotspot, is sounds like you router at home is not assigning the ip address correctly. The easiest way to fix that is to turn off the Galaxy Tab and then pull the power cord on the router. Plug the router back in and then after it powers back up turn on your Tab so the router can reassign an IP to the device

I had this problem recently with my My Touch 4G slide, my Ipod, laptop, desktop and tablet.  It turned out that my wireless router was bad.

Thanks eladiha.  I am really at my wits end.  I thought this too but I just returned from out of town and had no problem connecting my WiFi to other networks.  In addition, the router is wirelessly connected to another computer at home which is working just fine.  I will give it another try.  Have not had an oppotunity todo so since my return. I understand that the user of the other computer had a connection problem also for a brief time.  Maybe the problem has fixed itself or I am not using the correct password.  Thanks again.

I finally solved the problem.  I was using the wrong passcode!  I have rarely had to utilize the daily wifi (at a cost) because with my current internet provider I have wifi on the road.  ATT apparently has lots of hotspots.  I am extremely happy with my Samsung Galaxy 7 tablet w/voice phone.  I cannot imagine what the IPad has that this android device does not have.  Thanks for your help.
