phatcorns stated that the restarts did not happen until google voice war introduced . has uninstalled it so hopes now that it may have solved the problem  . Do you have google voice installed .

  • 16. Re: Random Shut off?

my phone has only restarted 1 time since i turned on the USB debugging.  so i can live with that.  thats alot better than 10-15 times a day which is what it was doing.

  • 17. Re: Random Shut off?

I just had a restart with Google Voice completely uninstalled, so I think we can rule that out.  It restarted while I was playing Words with friends over wifi.  Perhaps that will be another clue as to why it's happening.

As for frequency, it started happening on me more as time went on with the first phone, but was never as frequent as 10-15 times a day.

Some others on the forum think maybe  the Google Voice could be part of the problem . phatcorns  deleted the Google Voice  , hoping that could help solve the problem

Hi that is a different  option to solve the Random Shut Off . One other on the forum  was hoping that uninstalling the Google Voice may have solved the issue .

  • 20. Re: Random Shut off?

Add me to the list of folks with the problem. Did the usual, checking the battery, factory reset... still shutting off. I'm on line with Support right now and they say keep answering the HTC request for feedback... this may be a firmware problem. Emailing HTC is not a bad idea in addtion...

bcbrown had the Random Shut Off  10-15 times a day . this has only occured once since  turning on the USB debugging . Its worth a try .

Hi the latest option i got from  bcbrown . He was having Random Shut Off  10-15 times a day . Sorry bcbrown he or she  . turned on the USB debugging . As of now the issue has been solved  . Still a good idea to email HTC . Over the past few days  6  people on the forum have had this annoying issue on an expensive phone .

  • 23. Re: Random Shut off?

i had not had a problem with restarting with this phone for a few days after i got it. then all of a sudden i've been getting restarts automatically atleast once a day. if someone does email htc keep us updated

  • 24. Re: Random Shut off?

Google Voice being the culprit was only my guess.  It is definitely NOT Google Voice.  I have uninstalled it completely and other people here do not have it and they are still having the resets.

I'm going to open up a topic on the HTC support forums and I'm also going to email them.

  • 25. Re: Random Shut off?

I have emailed HTC and posted on their forums.  I will report what they say when I get a response.

  • 26. Re: Random Shut off?

if you look on one of my earlier posts i already emailed them and turning on the USB debugging and pulling the battery was the first option they told me to try and so far its been more than a day since i did that and it has only happened once ans that was when i was charging it through the computer and when the battery got full it restarted but it didnt do it with the wall charger. so as far as im concerned turning the USB debugging on worked for me.

  • 27. Re: Random Shut off?

I will give that a shot when I get home tonight and hopefully it does the trick for me too.  Thanks bcbrown.

  • 28. Re: Random Shut off?

i guess i spoke too soon because since i told you that it has restarted 2 times
