I never received the OTA and the LG update tool does not support Macs so what can I do?
Can I go to a T-Mobile store and get updated?
I not have a PC actually I have never used one- only Macs
so will T-mobile help me out here?
BTW my G2X is pretty nice except for the reboots!

Some Tmobile stores have the updates on sd cards.
So I would call your local Tmo stores and see if they have them.
T-Mobile is ridiculous. Their OTA didn't even update all of our phones. Their solution? Go to LG and get the update. Oh, you own a MAC? Sorry - your phone won't get an update.

after explaining i do not have a PC - I work in photography - no one i know has a PC
they said the LG tool was my only option
so eventhough i have no PC and cannot get one - they said my onlny option is the LG tool.
i'm calling t-mobile support and getting a GB replacement if they cant do it in store
Doesn't Mac have a Windows emulator program to where you can
use the LG program?
like boot camp? i would have to partition a drive, buy windows and install

I was thinking more of a program called Crossover Impersonator. You can download the trial
version and see if it will work for you and get what you need done. Plus you don't need a Windows license.
This problem also applies to people who DO have a PC, but also got stuck with a refurbished G2X. So...you are not alone, in your anger and disgust.
The LG tool bricks refurbs. I called Tmo 2 weeks ago, and asked about my OTA. He said the update was still active, and I'd get my update within a week. Um...yeah.
Planning on calling T-Mobile, and "discussing" this lol. I've tried taking my phone into a corporate store, and they couldn't help me either...because THEY didn't have a PC. Pfft...wha?

I have the same problem. I have a Mac and couldn't update to gingerbread and I never received my OTA update. Customer Care told me to take it to a T Mobile store and they couldn't do the update either. Now they are sending me a new phone. I think that all the refurbs can't get the update for some reason because I was playing around with the G2X in the store and it was able to upgrade to gingerbread but my phone could not. I should be getting another phone tomorrow hopefully with gingerbread already on it.

Yes they are sending me a refurbished phone i guess. I took it to the store because customer care told me that the store can do the update. He tried to install gingerbread on my phone but it wouldn't work so he just ordered me another one. I haven't gotten it yet but hopefully either it has gingerbread on it or i will be able to update it. And no i didn't have to pay $20 warranty replacement fee
yeah i thought that $20 fee was BS.
they were pretty adamant about it.

and the "supervisor" i spoke to even recommended i contact LG about it too!
