Howdy all. Just got an OTA update about 20 min ago and can't find anywhere that gives any kinda change log. The bootup animation is different, and adjusting the brightness via a slider on the pull down notification bar has been added, but that's all I can tell so far. Here's a screen grab of the new update info. If anyone has any info that would be great!
looks like this is an update that also includes some 'stability' fixes but the link below indicates that the international versions are the ones getting this...at least for now.
I received the OTA update as well. So far I've noticed the same things you have, plus the Stock Browser looks difference and I think it works with the Facebook website now. Prior to this, I was unable to access Facebook with the stock browser because it would always freeze up. So far it has not since this update.
Also, the camera has some new cool features...colors etc... I noticed on the link deadplasmacell provided that someone said that the Internet had colors added in the settings, but I havent' found that feature so maybe we did not get that particular one.
That's about it so far. I haven't had any issues with my Galaxy S3 so these updates have just added to an already awesome phone!
Just got the update on mine. Also seems to run a little smoother.
I appear to be stuck on Edge after the LH2 update. Anyone else experiencing this?
As usual an update hasn't dropped down in my area yet. But the Verge covers what's in the update:
The update is great that it has the brightness adjustment on notifications screen, but hate that they removed the google universal search.
I also wish they would have implimented samsungs music hub since its been released to US versions of GS3 now,
But overall a nice small update.
Better stated, they removed local search.
Also you can now switch between GSM and WCDMA (2G & 4G)
I wonder why some of us still haven't received the update? My stock and un-rooted T-Mobile SGS-III is still at rev T999UVLEM and checking reveals no available updates.
Mind you, all is working fine as it is ;-)
Just connect your phone to the computer and sync with kier
Why wait for OTA when you can get it on Kies? That is what I did the first day...
Is the the regular Kies or do you still have to use Kies mini?
Good tip! I'd missed that change, though my signal at the moment is very steady on 4G and I'm optimistic that I won't have need to select GSM anywhere near as often as I used to do with my previous device.
We have more information about this update in the Software overview: Samsung Galaxy S III document.
Hope this helps!
