I have the Amaze and since July 9th I have been having the same issue. I use delivery reports so i know my text go thru. Since July 9th every msg is still showing "pending" but my friends are confirming that they are getting them. It doesn't matter which carrier they are on, I even tested to myself. There is a network issue.
Yes, nothing has changed. SMS pending, MMS works fine, shows delivered and read
I use only the application which was originally on the phone installed when I bought it, (2 month ago)
It is very stressful because I'm not sure whether the recipient received the message.

I know pending errors are frustrating- not knowing if the message went thru. You can try wiping the cache partition. If this does not fix it, I would suggest clearing the cache and data for the messaging application (which will delete all of your messaging data).

I cleaned the cache partition, but unfortunately did not help. So I went ahead and turned out that the function of cleaning the data is inactive and can not be done.
I know I can do the master reset but I do not want now.
Maybe with the new system upgrade will be good. I'll wait.
