I just got my s3 yesterday and the screen is already cracked top to bottom. The worst part is I dropped it while sitting down. Ive dropped my s2 countless times and i never had a problem. im highly upset smh. any idea what can be done to fix it???
Since is so new I doubt you will find a replacement screen on ebay yet.
Do you have insurance?
Can file a claim if you do.
If not can either call samsung to see if they can fix it and at what cost or if the will sell you a new screen / digitizer.
yes i have insurance. i also spoke to a samsung support agent. they told me that tmobile is supposed to give me a 15-30 day replacement warranty. which im guessing it means i can get a new s3 for free.
luck with that
I highly doubt that will happen.
If was a warranty issue like not powering on maybe if they had stock available.
Buy stock of the phone is hard to come by.
And while yes it was a drop only from a short distance proving how fragile the phone is, that is considered physical damage to the phone and not covered under warranty.
So will either need to send into Samsung or make a claim on your insurance which if is the one thru T-mobile is a 130$ charge.
i hope i dont have to go thru asurion the insurance company. i know they charge $130 and im deff not trying to pay extra for a phone i just got yesterday with an upgrade for almost $380. thats just insane and not right. i never had a problem with the s2. i dropped my s3 once and screen cracks. there has to be something tmobile can do. how much do u think samsung will charge to fix the screen if thats case of me needing to send it in?
No gorilla glass GNP. Is it as bad as iPhone 4s glass?
Takor send it back and tell them it came like that. Hustl, your still in teturn window.
Well that would probably only work if was mailed jbreynolds1.
Plus what you suggest is illegal if the OP gets caught.
They call that theft by deception.
There was a phone a while ago that had screens that easily broke. I don't remember which phone it was. The manufacturer would look at the pasterns in the shattered glass and determine if it should be a warranty replacement. If it was a warranty issue, they replaced it at no cost.
If you increase the dimensions (width and/or height) of the glass without increasing the thickness, it's more fragile. Simple physics.
Yeah that was the dash phone that had that problem.
I had one.
I think that is just more fragile that is the problem.
I thought the G SIII was suppose to have Gorilla GlassII?!
You mention that you dropped the S2 countless times. How are you holding the phones? I know anyone can drop a phone but it may start with being more careful. Did you buy a case for the S3? Have you had a case on the S2 when it was dropped many times? The design of this phone is quite different with the contours and it's a little thinner. This can make the glass more fragile even though it should be a gorilla type glass.
