Was looking through my t-mobile bill for the past few months and i was charged unknowingly for the past 3 months by ClickGen and this past month by True Digit and Mobile Plus Inc. What's the best way to resolve this issue? Just contact customer service?
If I ask to block text messages with short codes, is there a way to provide exceptions becuase I think banks and legit sites such as espn use short codes to provide text updates to users.
Good questions! Premium service charges can be an unpleasant surprise. You can contact customer care to get them stopped, and I can help you also.
If you do want to use short codes for banking and ESPN (how did we know how much money we had before texting BAL to the bank?) we actually have a content blocking feature that you can add. It's free and it blocks all the charges from 3rd parties, but not the ones that are free.
I'm going to send you a private message to get more information. Take a look when you've got a moment.
I am new to TMO and have a prepaid plan. Have not had a problem yet with premium charges but did have them with my previous prepaid plan (VRZ). They issued a refund were able to block any future premium charges. Also able to block premium services from my land line.
How do I block all premium charges with TMO prepaid?
A lot of times, the charges are associated with the phone number so if you ported your number from VZW to T-Mobile, the blacklist will follow. If you want to make sure you're covered, you'll want to chat with a Monthly 4G specialist at http://www.t-mobile.com/chat so that they can help make sure you're blocked.
Welcome to T-Mobile!
Hi T-Mobile Mod.
I have a $9.99 premium service charged in my bill on 05/06. The details seem to be related to TRUE DIGIT LLC. I have no idea about this service and have not authorized any such service. Please help me to remove this service and also adjust my bill to remove this charge. Thanks!!
I guess it's a lesson to go through the bill every month..
P.S. I chatted with the Customer service rep on internet and he was not able to remove the charges. But told me not to pay the $9.99. I have the chat transcript as well. Can i go ahead and pay only my bill excluding $9.99? will it result in any non-payment fines?
That seems like poor advice, frankly. Unless they are going to credit or adjust your account accordingly, your failure to pay the $9.99 will leave you with a balance due. It is possible that you could get into trouble over it with a disconnection and subsequent reconnection fees, if you are a few days late paying next month.
YOu need to work through to a clearer conclusion with a CSR. Try sending a Private Message to one of the moderators here, such as tmo_jessicab or tmo_adam_c.
After some 10 years of service we got my first $9.99 gift from a scammer. At 4.39 my wife got a text message from Diettipz with a message to sign up to receive Diet Tip Alts (Phone 5661). Two minutes later, another message on Kiwi an Papapays. Two minutes later that "welcome" you will receive 3 messages/week @$9.99/mo billed to cell Reply STOP to cancel.
This is a real rip off. If T-mobile cared about its customers it would opt out everyone from content download and protect their customers from being ripped off. And then spend time calling to cancel these charges and wasting time of T-mobile reps.
In any case, I called sent a stop message and recieved confirmation. Then I went on-line to block content on all our lines, but could not do so on-line and called 611. They confirmed that 9.99 was already charged!! The rep said your wife must have clicked on some advertisement. I told her she does not use the phone for any web surfing and not even internet because she uses the iPad for that. Anyway, the T-mobile rep said you will need to pay the 9.99 this bill but will get a refund in 30 days. I asked her again, would I be calling every 30 days for getting a refund or will it be processed in 30 days. She said in 30 days. I will just wait and report back what happens. I have so far been happy with T-mobile service, I hope they do the right thing and prevent us being ripped off.
I am going to write to my congressman and senators about this. Too many scammers become millionairs overnight by ripping off Americans. Many times these scammers are based overseas. The opt in system is horrible. Only in the US can spammers get away. In Australia and other countries the ombudsmen come down heavy on the corporations for scams like this. Here the senators are paid off by these scammers for re-election funds so they keep quiet.
I recommend sending a message to tmo_jessicab. She works for T-Mobile and if she has not contacted you already will most likely do so. I ran into the same problem and she resolved the issue for me immediately. Also, if your wife does not surf on her phone, I would Block Third Party Apps. This is an option on the website under your account services. While I agree that the scammers are getting ridiculous, Jessica has made me a lifetime T-Mobile customer thanks to her level of support and response on this message board.
Thanks Philyew, mdyankee,,, Jessica B of T- Mobile contacted me via private message and she helped resolve the problem. I got my 9.99$ refund into my account within 20-30 mins. she was just amazing and so responsive.
Thanks Jessica for your great customer service.
I dont understand one thing though. CSR told me many times that no solution is available for this and only solution possible is to avoid paying the $9.99. But that sounds like a risky proposition as mentioned by Philyew. CSR should not give such advice when it is not correct.
I hope i dont get charged next month as well by the same scammer.
Any person with the similar issue, pls address your concerns to t mobile moderator, jessica B.. She is very helpful.
Yes, there is a way to block it. Log on to your account. Turn on the "Block Third Party Apps".
that option does not exist. cute.
I spoke with Lenny P on CHAT (fabulous that T-Mobile has a chat!!!)(I'm coming from B**** where I had a very hard time getting a csr on the phone), and he agreed, the option does not show on the mytmobile page, but it is available to him, so I had him check it. Prior to doing that I had bought and returned a 1.99 app through what they now call "Play store" or "Google play". I since (Lenny P's change) tried to buy a few others and they all come up with
"add a credit card" which I am thinking might mean that it will no longer push the charge through T-Mobile, which, if true, is fabulous - I can always download them on my computer (use PayPal or virtual credit card), transfer them to a SD card, and install them from there. I also just installed a "Lookout Ad Network Detector" (free, search for "ad block" in play store), in hopes of reducing the chance of a miss-poke of my finger. It seems to be working.
EDIT: I am on that $30 month to month 100minutes unlim txt and 5gbdata I'll probably never break a gig!
