I've had my G2x for over a year and I didn't receive the first update to gingerbread. ( I had to get a replacement phone sent to me with gingerbread already on it) So I am concerned about not getting this new update for the G2X which is much needed. I put up with the frequent phone freezes and reboots for a year already. How can I be re-assured that the OTA update will get pushed to my device?
P.S I have a Mac and will not be able to update from LG website.
On your Mac setup bootcamp (google search) install a trial of windows on bootcamp and use LG tool to update.
Little drawn out but doable vs finding a computer.
You will need to have gingerbread or you won't get new update.
im having the same problem right now they ota of the lastest gingerbread was pushed out on the 23 of april and now the last day they push the gingerbread is on monday and i keep on checking on my phone if i have recieved it but it still say its lastest current software but its still 2.3.3. it kinda getting me mad my phone shut off randomly four times yesterday and one of them was when i was in the middle of a phone call..
Don't know where you got you information. There is still more than a week left for the Push.
Got my information from everywhere Tmonews, phandroid, intomobile etc they only listed April 23-may 7 as the dates of the lastest gingerbread update but the manual update with LG update took it is listed may 14. But from the document it listed April 23- may 14.
which version are you on?
V21E or V21Y?
V21Y is the newest and will still be gingerbread.
If you don't have it by the 14th can update manually but will need to wait till then.

T-Mobile should have written this to say: If you don't want to update via OTA, or the OTA has not been pushed to your phone by May 14, you can manually update through LG's website beginning May 14.
If someone isn't really paying attention, that first part "if you do not want to wait for the OTA" makes it seem as though you can manually update now.
