I recently did a software update on my LG mytouch, before I did this I could take a screenshot. After the update was complete I have not been able to take one. I am not sure if the update caused this or if there is something wrong with my phone? Has anyone else had this problem?
I also have the Lg MyTouch and I'm having the same problem. They've told me to do a Master Reset, but that didn't help. I'm still having the problem.
I was thinking about doing the master reset but I didnt want to lose everything I have on the phone. But if it didnt work for you i'm not even going to bother to do it. I took alot of screenshots, but then it just stopped working im very dissapointed and wish there was something I could do.
yea don't bother. I did it twice and it didn't work. Tmobile said that that they woul let LG know about this problem so hopefully they can fix it because I am dissapointed as well.
Hey jmetalley, we're sorry to see any issues after updating. How did you normally do a screenshot before? I ask because on different devices, the method can vary. Some phones are hold power, then tap home. Some use the volume and home.
The update may have changed the method, let us know if this helps, or if I can look into this further!

Hey tmo_maria_g, I'm having this problem as well and I tried both those methods and they don't seem to work.
tmo_maria_g -- I also tried both those methods and they do not work after the update to 2.3.6. Prior to the 2.3.6 update, the method was: Hold power, tap Home.
I too am having the same problem. My phone decided to do an update on May 3rd, my birthday which cut into some air time and took away my screenshot capability. I wanted to take screenshots of birthday texts and whatnot but couldn't. Did the way to take screenshots change or was that feature, which was automatic on our mytouch, taken away or was it changed? If it was changed, what's the new way to take screenshots? Thanks!

Removing your screen shot/capture feature is not listed.
If you are finding that you have problems with this after updating, please follow these steps:
Attempt to power off your device, then remove your battery, sim card, & micro SD card for 30 seconds. Power your device back on, once it's completely finished loading, try to use the screen capture feature again by pressing the Home button after holding down the Power button. It's important to do this combination of keys quickly, before the power off screen appears.
If the problem still persists, you will need to follow these steps to perform a master reset: http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-2796 - Please note there are steps at the beginning of this document on how to back up your device before performing a master reset.

yup screenshot still wont work , my wife LGmytouch was upgraded recently and i'Ve tried everything still nothing works , mine was recently replace by tmobile so i still have the old software and the screenshot works perfectly just by holding the on/off button then pressing home
i tried doing all of those & it did not work ! HELP
