Hi I am new to this forum and I hope someone might be able to help me. I just updated my G2X this past Friday. Immeadiatly upon restart I got an error message that google play music process stopped unexpectedly. It gave me the option to force close it. When I tried to start the app, it continued to crash and offer a force close. No other goole play app does this. I also discovered when I remove my external sd card, The app works well. This is the only troublesome app on my phone. Every other app seems to work fine. Can anyone figure this one out.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for your reply to my issue. After updating my G2X to gingerbread V21y, and on its first boot up. I received this message: "The application google play music (process com.google.android.music:Main) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" It offered me two choices either "force close" or "report". ater force closing it during 1st boot up it appeared a second time and I force closed it agian. I had never run google play music once. When I did try and run it the same message appeared each time and I had to force close it.
I tried clearing the data and even cleared the data from download manager. Then stopped syncing and syncing in the background. I then tried openeing the app and the same error message came up. This app loaded with the new update. I never saw it before. the phone otherwise seem more stable in general. This seems to be the only problem. I had also done some battery pulls to see if it helped with no luck.
I hope you might have further suggestions so I can solve this problem. I also updated the app to the latest version from the play store.

I performed a master reset which did not work. I went to my local T-Mobile store. After checking out my G2X she offer me an new phone under my insurance which I acceptrd it arrived today with gingerbread 2.3.3 instead of updated 2.3.4. I tried to update the new phone OTA but it said I had the latest version. I will try the manual update From LG using the update tool stating May 17. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks for all your suggestions. I tried them all.
I just updated my replacement phone with the manual update tool from LG. Now running gingerbread 2.3.4. My problem has returned. The Google play app is still force closing, so I guess it wasn't a phone problem after all. Now I have no idea what to do.
what version of the Play Store app do you have - 3.5.16? There is a .19 version coming out which may fix some of the crashes with the app. if you don't want to wait, you can manually update it from here: http://www.tmonews.com/2012/05/google-play-updated-to-version-3-5-19-who-can-find-something-new/
Thanks gandecab. I do have that version of play store. I just got Google play music to work. I pulled my external SD card and formatted it. I then reloaded my music files from their original source on my laptop. I also reloaded allmy pics and videos. When I restarted my phone, the app finally worked. So far no crashes or force closes. I think either the micro SD card was corrupted, and or some music files were corrupted. I hope this will help anyone with this problem. Thanks everyone for your help.
