I'm considering buying an HTC One S (my husband just got the Galaxy G2), but I read there have been issue with recent versions of other HTC phones having trouble with bluetooth headsets (when using phone feature) such as poor clarity/distortion and dropping connection with the phone in the middle of a call. I currently have a Wing (I know it's ancient. I just haven't been able to part with it even after five years--I've tried), also made by HTC. It does these things, as well as totally "unpairing" with the headset. Has anyone had issues with the One doing this type of thing? If it does this I might want to get a Galaxy. Any input about this issue is welcome.
I use it with a jabra wave, and the call clarity is better than when paired with the Droid on Verizon. Zero problems at all.
I use a jawbone hero and I haven't had any problems like that.
Same here... been using mine with a Jawbone Icon HD as well as a Jawbone Jambox external speaker. No issues whatsoever here.
Great phone, outstanding audio; however multiple people are having bluetooth issues. My issue is that it won't stay connected to my cars bmw bluetooth. High pitch sound then unable to communicat with caller. I see multiple blogs about the same issue, I am sure HTC is working to solve.
I believe i'm having issues whenever I have WiFi turned on at the same time. My Bluetooth device was on and my Bluetooth active on the phone and it would not connect. Then I got into my car which has Bluetooth and it connected briefly before disconnecting as if my phone was not in range.
The first time I noticed an issue was after talking on the phone and ending the call. A moment later I heard my phone startup doing playing and I notice it had generated an error report for HTC.
I hope a software update is coming to correct the issue and it is looked into since this is a key feature and area for satisfaction failure.
Love my phone and its still the best phone available today!
By the way a friend is having the same issues and only just switched to T-Mobile yesterday to get the new phone. I think that's enough reports to warrant concern and escalation. Too bad the HTC forum is under maintenance so I may have to email HTC directly.
Yes this is a known issue and when I called with problems they offered me a replacement after going through master reset and a few other tests. This will be my third HTC One S and if they give you a bad phone you have to pay $5 more each time to get one that works. I figure eventually this will cost me much more than I thought. I have been with T-Mobile since the beginning but I am soo ready to switch. Can they honestly hold me to a contract when they don't give me the service I am paying for???
I did have the issues I was concerned about with the One and exchanged it for the Galaxy. I have had no problems with it there and LOVE the phone. I'm sorry to hear about your issues with the One. Hopefully HTC will fix that "bug" soon.
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.
Well since the last update I have no longer had any problems with the bluetooth conectivity. I am very happy with my phone now.
Found a Motorola Bluetooth in the grocery store parking lot. Went home, charged it up and it connected to my One S in a matter of seconds.
HTC One S has a probelm with Bluetooth.
WiFi calling does not work when using Bluetooth headset. (garbled, choppy, dropouts, motorboat sound). Please seen my posting on TMobile site.
