Blackberry Storm (new) Can I use it?

A friend gave me a brand new in the box Blackberry Storm II and I want to know if I can use it with my T-Mobile acct. I am seeing conflicting opinions on this. My first call to T-Mobile, she said yes, I just need to unlock it (go to Verizon and ask them. Well, they said 'no'). The second call to T-Mobile they said 'No, it isn't possible'. then I see websites that say they can sell me the unlock code.

So, is it possible for me to use this or isn't it?

Thanks!

Does the phone have a slot sor a sim card? If it does you should

be able to use it once unlocked and the apn/data settings are changed to Tmobile.

According to this article the phone does have a sim card slot.

Like its predecessor, the Storm 2 is a world phone and ships with a SIM card. The handset's dual-mode functionality allows it to automatically switch from Verizon's dual-band CDMA network here in the States to international quad-band GSM networks, so you can still make calls and receive data while traveling. Just remember that your calling freedom remains somewhat curtailed. When in the United States you must use Verizon's network, while overseas the Storm is locked to Verizon's roaming partners.

Yes, I put the sim card in, it just needs to be 'unlocked'. And therein lies the problem. How do i do that? Verizon said they can't do that.

You can buy on unlock code off eBay but they have to mail you the unlock code

or you can search the internet for a company that unlocks phone but make sure they

guarentee the code will work with a money back guarentee and get the code e-mailed to you in less than a day.

Hey, Good luck with getting T-Mobile to unlock anything. I paid full price for a LG DoublePlay just so I would have the functionalilty of switching GSM cards when overseas. Guess what? T-Mobile has run me around in circles for three weeks, faxing forms and receipts, 1:40 minutes on the customer care line (HAH!) - got hung up on twice.

I still don't have my phone unlocked. Seems the "Unlock Team" doesn't have a phone so you can't call them.

Which is T-Mobile double talk for ***** you, we ain't unlocking your phone. I think I would be embarrassed to tell anyone that I worked for T-Mobile, I know that I am embarrassed that I switched from Verizon for these jokers. Guess what, I will be over at the Verizon store looking for a phone soon.

T-Mobile has the worse customer service I have ever seen!!!!

The poster is in a different situation than you are since

the phone she is trying to unlock is a Verizon phone and Tmobile

    can't unlock another carriers phone.
