I would LOVE to see ICS come, but it's not likely. The MT4G was released shortly before Gingerbread came out, and I (along with many others) am still waiting for an official update to that. Why T-Mobile's "Flagship" phone has been left behind for so long, I do not know.
The MT4G is not on the list of HTC supported phones for ICS (probably because it's not considered an HTC phone, but rather a T-Mobile phone).
All this particular branding by the networks is really what sucks. If they'd just let us load stock vanilla Android instead of adding on the "sense" layer, it would be a snap to update.
Anyhow, I'm expecting we'll get CM9 before ICS on the MT4G. It should be capable, as the hardware is nearly identical to the Desire S and HD phones, which are getting ICS.
Yes, corp. is requiring ICS due to security enhancements. So, I'm outta luck until I can get it.
Thank You Victor....Does not make sense to me they are attempting Android version 2.3.4 / Software version 1.63.531.2 update (see: http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-3045)
I would rather fore go that and just get ICE Cream! I'm sure that someone should've test that T-Mobile Version (1.63.531.2) on the MyTouch 4G. Always best to upgrade the OS before you upgrade the Software!

Okay correcting my Self here: "should have tested" vs "should've test" and providing some other interesting links! Found some other community boards on this topic and the Release that did'n't go out (I question this because my keyboard changed with recent Manufactured Reset (I was getting anode.process.acore - error visual voice mail).
Here are some more votes....even thou these people may/may not be in this Community:

I just got this phone and I would like to see Ice on this phone. I have the one with the current 2.3.4 and it's ok. But I have seen 4.0 on the mytouch 4g on youtube, and it looks good. I also would like to see Sense 3.0 as well.
YES- Of course this device should be upgraded to ICS, it is still a currently offered device at t-mobile and is more than capable.
I am currently running the Gingerbread update, and would love to have 4.0 on this phone. But I also agree with the other post that I'd be happy if we just got the Sense 3.0.
I installed an ICS rom to my glacier because I heard HTC wouldn't do it and the guys over at xda got the camera working. It's fast and stable. If I don't close down my apps correctly though, it will bog down and act wonky on some apps. I love it, too bad tmo and htc arent' likely to upgrde it.
I really would like to see ics on my phone. As seeing i have only been with the company for a few months and am stuck with a 2 year contract. I would like continued updates and support with my phone as i can't afford the extra money for a better, higher end phone.
I think will be on the fence if this phone gets that update.
Because it not only needs to be able to run ics it also will need to run the new sense 3.6 too.
If it can't be done with realty and the same performance and no slow down they won't release such a update.
me, I want Ice cream and sandwich on my phone.
Would love ICS to be pushed to my MyTouch4G, have actually thought about rooting the phone and doing it myself. As for Sense, I ditched it months ago for an alternate launcher and have never looked back.
YES - My phone is only a few months old, I would expect a 4.0 update...
A rep at a TM store told me that ICS had been approved for MT4G but wouldn't be out for at least another month. But I'm not all that anxious, since most of what I've read suggests that the major benefits are associated with integration of phone and tablet. I don't own a tablet (can't imagine ever getting one) and my Gingerbread update seems to perform well for me.
Don't worry...be happy!
