We've had our new phones for a day and a half, and my husband and I keep getting a voicemail notification, but when we call VM we're told there are no messages. It seems as if our voicemail is set up because when I checked my outgoing message it was the same one from before. We just transfered from a my-touch slide to the One S.
The phone also continues to reboot throughout the day and night and asks me to send in error reports. I send them, but I don't know if that's doing any good. The VM notifications and restarts have caused my to keep my phone out of the bedroom at night...so much for using it as an alarm.
Any help out there?
I think I can help with the voicemail notifications: call your voicemail. Hit 2 (I think) to leave a message - then dial your own number when prompted. Leave yourself a message. Wait a minute then call your voicemail again and listen to the new message in its entirety. Delete it afterwards. Then call back to your voicemail and listen to the menu options again - by then your notification should be gone. Make sure to set up VVM so you don't have to worry about calling your voicemail anymore, and whenever you get a phantom notification just repeat the above steps (I did it once and it hasn't happened to me anymore)
As for the random reboots, mine did it once so I did a factory reset - hasn't happened since! Keep an eye on what apps your installing as I think that's most likely what's interfering.
That got rid of the current notification, but I worry it'll come back for two reasons: I've done this once before and I get continuous notifications of new voicemail throughout the day and night. I'll let you know.
I followed all of the above steps and my voice mail notification is still there, no mas. I tried rebooting the phone, no mas. Help...
I found this answer in a earlier post and it seems to work.
have you tried going into your Settings > Call > clearing voicemail icon notification
you shouldn't have to do that but if it gets "stuck" you could try that to see if it clears it.
I wish that the solution suggested by Unclespoon was a permanent one, but once someone leaves me a new voicemail, the problem returns. I delete the VM, and then have to leave myself another one and delete it. Please tell me there is a permanent fix in the works?
