I recently purchased my LG Optimus and have been trying to download apps from Market. I actually don't have a data plan and everytime I hit Market, it keeps giving me an error message "An error has occurred. please try again later". Is it possible to download apps without a data plan? If so, is there a reason my Market isn't working? I'm running Android 2.2.2 and am a newbie to Android in general- I also tried using google play from my Mac but it won't let me download apps to my phone without first accessing market from my phone.
Thanks in advance for your help!
yes, you can access and download apps on wifi. are you using the market app or the google play app? the market app should have been updated with the google play app by now. did you register the phone with a gmail account? that is needed to access the market. try clearing the cache and data from the market or play apps to see if that will force a refresh.
Thanks for the help! My phone hadn't updated to google play yet,. I also talked to 2 tmobile reps and finally got an answer. in order for market to work, background data has to be turned on. Probably also the reason it hadn't updated to play yet. I was worried about turning it on and having my data accidently used up but the rep said that shouldn't happen but jus in case, placed a block on using the data as well. Hope this helps!
that will do it!
if you don't have a data plan, you don't have to worry using up your data since you will only connet to wifi.
