I would have.
And it's still one of the best available.
First android phone I used and would still be using it if I didn't have an Amaze but my wife loves the Sensation since I gave it to her.
In a heartbeat.
I love this phone.
No problems with bluetooth call range like the Amaze has.
Yes, most definitely! I haven't seen a phone yet that made me regret my decision.
Yes, it has been a good, fast, dependable phone. No problems at all. This was a replacement for the G2x, and let's not go there!
I most def would. I love my sensation
I most def would. I love my sensation. I've never had any serious problems with it. I wouldn't change a thing
Yes I would! Sensation is a great phone, no major problems, handles mulitasking like a champ.
No. not just because the volume rocker fell off, I got horrible battery life, speaker quality and volume were pooor and dust under the screen. Though it is only a minor upgrade, I would have waited for the Amaze because the standard camera on the Sensation is horrid compared to the options and ease at which you can use the one on the Amaze. To be fair, since rooting I have had a ROM that has made me like my Sensation a hell of a lot more than I did when it was stock. But I would not do it again.
My sensation replaces my T-Mo G2. It's a great piece of hardware and I've been happy with it except for the loss of bluetooth voice dialing. For some reason, this worked in my G2 and was not included with the Sensation. The other downside is that playing games or video recording causes the phone to drain the battery quickly (and get quite warm in the process). I just ordered an unlocked Galaxy Nexus and hopefully it doesn't have these issues.
About HTC Sense...I like many of the widgets, but am not pleased with the memory usage. If I use an app which uses a lot of memory, upon returning to the home screen it will restart Sense. This wastes lots of time. I didn't have this issue on the G2. I found some software on XDA to "de-sense" the phone and have been running it without Sense for a few weeks. Overall I don't miss it, but I'm not a typical phone user. I don't put much value in the launcher/home screen. As long as I can dial/answer and run my apps without too many taps, I don't really care about the GUI design.
to answer your question... yes, I would buy the Sensation again. The only thing I would change would be to root and "de-sense" it from day one.
Definitely. The only complaint I had was battery life, which was easily solved by an aftermarket 1900 mAh battery (the standard now for the Sensation XE).
Interestingly, the HTC One S only has its RAM as a major bragging right over the Sensation 4G - and that only by 256 megabytes. Everything else is so close as to be negligable and when the ICS update comes, the gap will be even smaller. Not that the One S isn't a good phone, but I don't feel at all behind the curve when I compare the two.
(....and if you're willing to root & mod the Sensation, well, you're options are that much better!)
sure would. but that samsung note looks pretty tantalizing.
I got my Sensation as a replacement to the mytouch 4G,but yes I would. In fact, I should have gotten this phone in the first place. The only problem that I have is the memory. Battery is not that much of an issue, as I am a power user, so I know my battery won't last the day. Can't wait for the chance to root, though.
Yes I would.I never had any problems with it. I just got the One S but still can't give up my Sensation.
I'm about to replace my Sensation, too. I just need time to set up my new phone. I carried the Sensation for 10 months. That's a long time for me!
