I have been at T-mobile for years and was thinking about leaving in order to get an IPhone...looked at the prices and now I'm staying. I can upgrade in a month and I can't decide on a phone. I have had a keyboard for years and I am thinking it's time to evolve to an all touch screen phone! But I may want to stick with the Mytouch line and get the 4g slide. I just read about the HTC One however and it does look great!
If not having a physical qwerty is okay with you there are several phones more powerful than the One S available, the One S will be an upper middle of the road Android 4.0 device according to the specs. If you want to stay with a full qwerty there is not a more powerful option then the Mytouch 4g slide anywhere.
The HTC one series is gonna be HTC's flagship device, kinda like the galaxy s phones are for Samsung. They are gonna be released annually and have the latest and greatest that HTC has to offer. That means you will get a phone that has the latest versions of Android, sense, beats audio, and camera software. And tho the s is the midlevel device (at&t will have the x) it still packs a punch. Benchmarks are threw the roof. And with a 4.3 inch screen I doubt you will miss a physical keyboard. Don't get me wrong cuz I have a mytouch, but with the mytouch 4G slide you will not get the latest software mentioned earlier. Unless price is truly a factor, there is no reason to not get the one s.
The End Of Life for MyTouch Slide is May 2012
I read a report that the htc one s does have an external SD card or removelable battery, so if there are factors for you, might want to check out some other options.
If not having a external memory card and none removable battery don't bother you in trade for AWESOME performance go with the one s.

tshielad said that he or she wanted an iPhone. iPhones have no removable memory or battery, so I'm fairly sure that's ok
Anyway, if you are looking at those two phones and they are a similar price, I would definitely choose the HTC One S. Basically everything about it is better than the 4G Slide, so it's hard to list it all. It's T-Mo's performance phone at the moment.
And it's kind of like an Android version of the iPhone, or at least the closest T-Mo has.
