Starting this morning, i have to seriously mash the sleep button down to get the phone out of sleep mode. I used to be able to press the home button to wake it up, but that stopped working months ago. I'm worried that if theres some kind of physical damage to the button, having to press it this hard will just make it worse.
Has anyone else had this issue? If so, did you find a fix for it?
Is it possible to set another button to wake it from sleep mode?
If you look at the button does it appear to be pushed into the phone?
its hard to tell. it looks to be completely flush with the edge of the phone. i can't remember if it used to come up a bit more than it does now. when you press it, it still can go down a bit and comes back up.
If you are still under warranty we may be able to replace the phone for you. If you have a chance, go to one of our retail store, and they will be able to take a look at the phone, and let you know if it is normal or not. If it is not, as long as there is no liquid or physical damage the store can set up an order for a replacement device.
sadly my warranty ended like a month ago. funny how all electronics do that (ive had 3 high end devices break within 2 months of the end of their warranty in the last year).
i'll still bring it by the store and have them look at it. thanks for the advice!!!
it doesnt matter if the phone is out of warranty as long as you have insurance on your phone..
worst thing is you are out of warranty and doesnt have insurance.. lol..
true, but you gotta admit, the insurance is a bit of a scam. its up to what, $8 a month? and the deductible is 1/4 the price of the phone. i've never had insurance on a phone. i did the math awhile back, i'm up over $1000 saved since i started using cell phones but not having insurance. i've only broken 1 phone in my life. and if the phone does go out before the life of my contract due to poor workmanship on the phone, i know never to buy another HTC again.
luckily its still working....for the most part...
