So I was on break at work about 2 days ago texting. I then put my phone (Amaze 4g) in my locker like normal, locked it up and finished out my shift. When I got my phone out of my locker after work about 4 hours later, it had that full screen notification that I had no service. No bars, no 4g, no nothing. Initially, I restarted the phone; nothing. I then took the case off, took the backplate off, removed the battery and sim card, let the device sit for a minute or two and restarted the phone; nothing.
Next I contacted Tmobile over a different phone and they told me a master reset would solve the issue. Well, it didn't. So then I thought it was an issue with the SIM card. I took the phone into my local Tmobile store and had them replace the SIM card; nothing. That was today and now I have spent a good couple of hours looking through these forums trying out different things like manual network selection, airplane mode, messing with the back plate and so on. I have already set up a ticket number through HTC to send the phone in but I am not sure about the back plate. I can't really tell if it is aligning properly. I can't really see in there. The only clue I have is that when I am connected to my 5ghz wifi signal, when I remove the back plate, signal strength decreases dramtically. The second I click the backplate back in to place, signal resumes full strength. This is telling me the antenna is fine or so I am assuming.
The other clue I am getting is wifi calling. Before I was having this issue, an error message occured saying my address information was not set up. With my current no service issue, the phone tells me invalid sim card.
What's going on here? This phone was is perfect working condition before I placed it in my locker that fateful afternoon. I don't understand what could have happened to it locked up in there.
Keep in mind, I have been through the Tmobile troubleshooting links, talked with Tmobile personnel both on the phone and in person as well as HTC.
