If you have Wi-Fi calling enabled, it will do that as it is relying on your Wi-Fi signal to place calls as opposed to the cell phone signals.
You just have to log into Mytmobile and change your password, worked for me right after
Mine just started doing this today - When Wifi calling is enabled I can receive, but not send texts. Calling works fine and all data work fine. There was a short period of time when I was able to send texts, but then it stopped again. As soon as I disable wifi calling, I can send texts again, with wifi still enabled. I have a mytouch q and so do 2 people I live with - they can still send texts with wifi calling enabled at times when I can't. I've always been able to send texts with wifi calling enabled, so I know it's possible.
Yeah this is rather annoying as I use Wi-fi as soon as I walk in the house. Doesn't sending text messages count against your data too?
Having the same problem - looks like a few people posted this morning - when I called TMO a recorded message said there are messaging problems today. My phone is lagging when sending / receving over the regular network, and cannot send, only receives when wifi calling is enabled (but there still is a lag with many messages). We have 2 Other Mytouch Qs on the same wifi network with the same settings as my Q and they're sending with wifi calling enabled, so it may be related to only certain SIMs? Hopefully all will be well by tomorrow since I've never had this problem before.
-Update - now ALL of our phones won't send texts with Wifi enabled - but we all still can receive...
are you 100% positive about this. I dont remember loosing a signal when I conect to wifi before today.
hi , I had same problem with my galaxy s2 ,and my wife galaxy s2 and I fix it easily . I just switch the sim card from one cell to the other , then power on both and let they boot and when I try to send msm both of them work, then switch sim's back and its still works ,
So find a friend or wife or someone and borrow his sim card.
power off your phone and change sim
power on the phone ,let it boot and configure
power off the phone
get your sim back
test and enjoy.
sorry my english is really bad...
dont forget to reply results.
This must have been resolved sometime over the night, as I can now send sms/mms via wifi on both of my S2's
Agreed. Just reset my phone and it's back to normal.
Working again here also glad or hope its resolved.
Yup last night everything started working again - this was a network issue. I can send texts when wifi calling is enabled now.
The complete powere cycle (shut off phone, remove battery for a few minutes) seems to work. My phone is now sending texts over Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi calling activated. However, im more curious as to why I should have to do this to have a functioning phone, and now I have to constantly check to make sure texts are working. I rely on this feature at work to communicate with family and coworkers, and more likely then not, I will need to rely on one of them asking why I didnt answer or text back to discover this selling point feature does not work as designed. I am not interested in removing my case every day to perform a complete power cycle, and should not have to for a top end phone imo.
I am still having this issue. S2. All software up to date. 911 address correct. Power cycling does not fix it for me. I have to forget my network and then reconnect. Help?
Okay, so. Just did a complete power cycle. Turned the phone off and removed the battery. My SIM card number does not have a 9117 (or whatever number the TMo admin said it should have). I guess I will go to the store tomorrow and have them get me a new SIM card to see if that fixes the issue.
I am using Galaxy S II since Nov 2011, with a preference on Wifi and have been using text messagin intensively daily since then with no problem. Since a week only, i can't send text messages when on Wifi. Have to stop wifi, go on 4g resend a new text ....the original text stays on "sending..." status for ever, unless i delete it.
No problem receiving texts
no problem with voice on wifi
no problem with surfing the web or any thing else.
Just an issue with outgoing text messages, and only since a week.
My only guess is that there is an ap update creating the problem...but which one ....
