I'm sorry you're having problems with slow Internet speeds. I looked into this and I wasn't able to find any known issues in your area. We have some troubleshooting steps you can follow to help resolve the issue. I'd also recommend checking your usage to ensure your speeds are not reduced.
Let us know if this helps!
Nope - I have the 5GB plan and have never gone over 3GB in a month. When I get in at 7am I can pull a speedtest of 3000-4000k - around 10 it gets slower and around 11 music starts to stop and I have to restart the stream - IF it restarts at all. At Lunch to watch alittle netflix, it can take up to 5-10 Minutes to even finally connect and start a stream, then every 5 minutes it stops and has to buffer for 2-3 minutes.
This happens on my wifes phone as well at the same time - She has the 5GB plan and uses MAYBE 1GB a month.
This has been happening for over a month - We just had a billing cycle kick over on the 7th and I have used 300MB so far.
Speed tests at these times drop from 3000-4000k Down / 1700 Up to 3k down / 1k or 0 up - or a timeout even starting the Speed Test.
I use my Data Connection for alot and I cannot stay with T-Mobile if this keeps going this week - I will have to just bite the ETF and move on - Im paying $30 a month for Data on two phones and cant use it when I need it the most (I need to use my email for work as well)
I would agree with that - I asked support on the phone and of course they say there no issues but my wife and I both have the issue on our phones. So today, 3/12/2012 I did some speed tests and you can see the pattern :
7:45am 302ms Ping 3268k Down 750k Up
9:23am 187ms Ping 3800k Down 230k Up
10:27am 311ms Ping 40k Down 18k Up
11:04am 258ms Ping 700k Down 15k Up
11:45am 167ms Ping 1900 Down 87k Up
12:00pm - 12:40pm TIMEOUTS on 7 Attempts
1:11pm 201ms Ping 1800k Down 25k Up
Current time is 1:20pm and I cant stream radio at work - Plays for a few minutes then timesout. Played great this morning until 10:25am.
The upload is aweful - Tough to do anything if my phone sends 15k - I notice when I start to hit that I timeout on all things even if download is OK.
This has been like clockwork for over a month - so $60 a month for a service I can only use when Im home at night - and then Im on WiFi anyway... Didnt have this issue for months ... I was a very happy customer....
Can we make the assumption that you're in the exact same physical location (within a few feet) when all the speed tests were done?
The reason I ask this silly question is building material can affect signal. When I'm at my desk, my 4G connection works beautifully. If I move a few cubes over, I lose most speeds because my signal gets very weak from the building.
Yep - All tests done at my desk - When I was at lunch I tested on my wifes phone (and we are outside in a clear area) - We used to get 4000k in the exact same spot and we would watch 30-40 minutes of Netflix. Now we cant even get the netflix Queue to pop up anymore.
Another Speed Test - 2:47pm EST - 2542ms ping, 102k Down, 6k Up.
Ill do more at 5 and 6 as well - and I work from home tomorrow and will test there too.
We have been Customers since June 2011 and had great speeds up until Feb 2012 - This is exactly what happened to Sprint as well - We left in our month tryout due to the horrid speeds, they were bad ALL the time at 40-50k.
so, it keeps getting worse now... Now I cant even get a speedtest to run after 10:30am EST - Timeouts and no email ... at 9am I was getting 3000k / Down and 358k / Up. Now I cant use the Internet at all... This has been like this for over a week - and it wont become usable until 3PM EST (if it follows the pattern). Called my wife and she has the same issue - so its not the phone.
C'mon Tmobile - This is just plain out horrible - Im paying for my 5GB a month, Ive used 1.5 in 3 weeks and now at 10:22am I get kicked off radio and the speedtest pulls a screaming 6k/Down and 16k/Up. This morning, pulling 3500k and streaming happily ... You must have way oversold and now need to expand ... I left Sprint for the same thing and you have been awesome for 9 months - the last 2 are just getting worse.....
Call them every time your speed tests go down. Every time, let them know it's a regular thing at certain hours as they put the trouble ticket in.
You can also send an email to TForce@T-Mobile.com and see if you can get someone to get on your tickets.
I doubt daily postings in the forum here (especially since you're in a specific device's forum) will get you anywhere. Maybe focus your complaints into the billing forum? Or one of the other device-agnostic forums here to get read by more T-Force folks?
True - Sorry about that .... Just thought I may hear from others... I did verify that it seems to be the towers downtown - My wife is home today and we did the same test at the same time, and it appears to be a real issue with Upload - I get 20k and she got 1500k. With that 10-20k I have issues communicating.
I am having the same issue.. I pay an extra $30 month for 2 phones with data and it is so sloww I just STOP trying from frustration. I've been a customer since they were voicestream, that's 10yrs... I'm actually on now the site now because I'm trying to figure out exactly when my contract is up so I can cancel all my services. I've had enough !!! When I first upgraded to the smart phone, it took them 6 months to get my bill straight. All i did was add a simple little phone for my 86 yr old mother who insist on driving. 6 MONTHS I fought.... I just can't take anymore
Sorry to hear that - nice to know Im not the only one. I have raised issues with them 3-4 times a week, and the last one FINALLY told me that there may be an issue and would open a ticket. She told me I would hear something in 48-72 Hours - Well, that was 6 days ago and nothing.... and its even worse than before, now It gets slow around 9:30am and gets to a usable speed around 3:30-4pm EST ... And at least before I could email once in awhile, and now I cant even grab email. So, we have decided that in June we are going to go to Sprint and just pay the ETF - Id rather pay that and get some usable data (and its a bit cheaper actually). Cant believe we pay $60 for 5GB of HIGH SPEED data - and I get worse than a 300 Baud Modem from my commodore days....
