Some of us would just be happy if it supported encryted email and the exchange active sync encryption profile...how about full disk encryption?
Sure I am biased, but a business feature or two would be nice to see..
I'm still trying to figure out how this phone is any different from the Galaxy s2.
Based on listed specs thus far the noted difference is the faster HSPA+ radio.
The main issue is better coverage and more access to HSPA+ at a 42 Mbps download speed.
AT&T as a function of a failed merger agreed return to T-Mobile AWS spectrum in the 1700 MHz band in 128 coverage areas. This means that a traveler with the Samsung Galaxy 4G Blaze will have better coverage in more areas to receive the 42 Mbps download capability. At this time I do not believe that T-Mobile offers any other phone that supports this additional spectrum. If you are a traveler this is important to you. I will wait for this phone before buying any other. Essentially you will get all the features of a Samsung Galaxy SII and HSPA+ in more locations. To me this combination is a big leap in performance and features.
Do not forget that when it is said that the download data rate is 42 Mbps this means that this is the capable speed from an antenna sector radio. If you are the only person in that antenna sector and you are requesting a download it is possible that you can get your data at 42 Mbps from the sending antenna radio. Of course there are still other blocks to you actually receiving data at 42 Mbps, such as network congestion to the radio, or congestion at the server where your requested data lay.
I just became aware of this model yesterday, read everything that I could find on it. I think that the evidence, so far, is pointing towards it being a high-end model rather than mid-level. The biggest clue is that it's going to be a 720p resolution screen. What I'm really wanting to know is the size, and I believe that it's going to be a bit smaller than the SGSII, more like the size of the original Galaxy S, which would make me very happy because that's the main reason that I decided against the SGSII, it's too big.
As for the release date, just another guess, but I would say end of March, or early April. I will be watching for the HTC Ville as well, that one looks promising for the same arrival time.
I'd be more excited about this device if it came with ICS out of the box. T-Mobile needs to get some ICS devices on their network.
I understand that ICS was delayed because of software problems.
I find the specs very dissapointing.
I was hoping this would be at lest a 4.3 or 4.5" screen with HD
Instead we get a 800x480 res on a 4" screen.
No NFC also? tsk tsk tsk.
I was also hoping for ICS but only get GB.
Well maybe we still have hope for The T-999
If the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze has a 3.9" screen as the spec states T-Mobile has lost me.
As a very last resort does anyone know if a Samsung Galaxy S II can be adjusted so that it will work with 1700 MHz AWS spectrum?
This phone is meant to be more midrange then the gs2
And sorry don't think you can adjust the frequencies used by it.
Is there a Samsung Galaxy SIII coming that might be what I want????
