Which do you prefer? Which is better for doing a lot of web browsing and texting a lot? Also, do you have any issues with the touchscreen freezing?
The amaze looks like the its the slide without the keyboard?
All in all i like the 4g Slide, battery life is pretty bad, but with apps and dicipline and a 3rd party battery its not too bad. some of the built in "sense os" stuff is kinda broken.. (like facebook widget has not updated in days) but I mostly use 3rd party apps for twitter/facebook/plus/flickr... so not a big deal..
no real screen freezes, it plays games well. wifi antenna is kinda under my lefthand when holding the phone landscape so sometimes it gets cruddy signal..
camera is pretty nice, i made myself use it exclusively for a month, and was able to get some proffesional quality shots with it.
HTC has confirmed that the Amaze 4G will be receiving an update to Android 4.0. Neither HTC nor T-Mobile will say anything about an update for the MyTouch 4G Slide, so it is likely they are going to abandon it, unfortunately.

Don't be so quick to assume.
What is occurring now is only the "1st wave" of updates. And the Amaze is already looking like it's headed for the EOL pile before the "slide". So the Amaze is getting ICS, but that may be where things end for the Amaze. The "slide" might still get an ICS update in a later wave.
I'll just say my wife does a lot of texting, so I got her the "slide" for its keyboard. No touchscreen freezing issues. She's very happy.
But the better device for web browsing would be the Amaze, given the higher screen resolution, larger display and slightly faster processor. Just the same, the "slide" does fine in that regard.
