What I do with MySpace for the Sidekick?

You can fully manage your MySpace account right from your Sidekick. MySpace on Sidekick is an ‘always-on’ experience and even goes a step beyond the MySpace Web site itself, as you can see which friends are ‘online now’ and automatically receive alerts for new messages, comments, etc. you receive.

How do I get MySpace on my Sidekick?

MySpace can be downloaded to the Sidekick from the Download Catalog like any other program.

Can I alter my settings?

Yes. The Settings menu allows you to fully customize your MySpace experience, defining individual alert sounds for each type of alert, choosing which types of notifications you’d like to receive automatic alerts for, and defining your privacy settings.

Will links sent to other programs such as e-mail or AOL® Instant Messenger™ Service (AIM®) point me to the MySpace program on the Sidekick?

Links that are sent to you with MySpace specific URLs should be opened automatically by the MySpace program if you have it installed on the device.

How do I log in to MySpace?

Log in using your MySpace Email address and Password. Note that this can be different from other addresses you use to log in to other programs on the Sidekick.

Will I receive account status messages for my MySpace account once I am logged in on the Sidekick?

Once you log in initially, the MySpace program will keep you logged in and always connected. You can get alerts or check your account status even without being ‘inside’ the program.

If you are elsewhere on the Sidekick, you will receive automatic scrolling title-bar alerts whenever you have new mail messages, new blog posts, or friend requests. The alerts work just like e-mail or IM on Sidekick so that you’ll always be on top of the latest developments!

Clicking on these alert messages takes you directly to the appropriate part of the MySpace program where you can get more information. You can also navigate using the menu.

Can I set a default photo for my MySpace page from the Sidekick?

Yes, you can set your default profile photo. Only one photo can be selected as your default profile photo.

What does the program look like? How do I navigate?

The MySpace program is structured with ‘tabs’ that correspond to larger groups of activities you might do on MySpace. The tabs are:

  • Home – A birds-eye view of your key account activity, including alerts for new messages, comments, etc., and your friends
  • My Mail – Everything you need to fully manage your MySpace mail
  • Blog – Compose new blog entries, make changes to existing entries, etc.
  • Search – A full-featured capability to search for others on MySpace

Navigate from tab to tab using the trackball.
