Where can I find more information about text messaging plans?

T-Mobile offers different text messaging plans for our customers. To view the available text messaging bundles and instructions on how to add the feature to your account, go to Text Messaging Plans.

How do I check my current text message usage?

You can check your text message usage free of charge 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

From your phone:

Using your T-Mobile phone, dial #MSG# (#674#), and then press Send. You can view your current usage and the date/time of the last recorded message activity.

OR

Select the My Account link in t-zones® to check your remaining messages and usage details. Every visit is FREE.

On the Internet:

Log in to your free My T-Mobile account. For information on logging in or registering, go to How Do I Log In to My T-Mobile?

Over the phone:

To interact with our voice response system, call 611 from your T-Mobile handset. When asked what we can help you with, simply say, 'Message Usage'.

NOTE: We will check your calling records and instantly display the number of text messages used, the date and time of the last rated messaging activity, all on your phone.

How often is #MSG# (#674#) updated?

While we do our best to ensure the usage is updated in real-time, sometimes systems issues can cause delays for this information to be updated. Minute Messenger will display the date and time of the last updated record.

Is there a limit to the length of the messages I can send and receive?

Yes. Your phone may limit the total characters you may type.

NOTE: Messages up to 160 characters are billed as 1 message. Messages sent in excess of 160 characters are billed as multiple messages.

What happens to text messages that are sent to me while my device is off?

You will receive recent text messages when you turn your device back on. However, text messages only remain in our systems for a set amount of time, typically up to three days. If your device is powered off or is off the network for an extended period of time, you may not receive these messages.

How do I send a text message from a computer?

Text Messages can be sent from the Send a Text Message page located on T-Mobile.com.

NOTE: Online text messaging is only available to T-Mobile phone numbers.

Am I billed for unopened text messages?

Yes.

Why am I being billed for unwanted text messages?

When a text message is received on your T-Mobile phone, you will be charged for the message. At this time, there is not a way for T-Mobile to block incoming text messages.

I have a text message bundle, why am I being charged for text messages?

One text message will be used per sent or received text message. Depending on your text message bucket, there is a potential to go over your allotted messages. To avoid going over your message bucket, verify your usage throughout your billing cycle by dialing # MSG# (#674#), and then press Send.
