Backlight

Brightness

To make the screen backlight brighter or darker, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menumenu key medium.pngkey.
  2. Tap System settings.
  3. Tap Display.
  4. Tap Brightness.
  5. Touch and slide the Brightness slider left or right to adjust the setting.
  6. Tap OK.

 

 

Timeout

To change the time before the backlight times out, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menumenu key medium.pngkey.
  2. Tap System settings.
  3. Tap Display.
  4. Tap Screen timeout.
  5. Select one of the following options:
    • 15 seconds
    • 30 seconds
    • 1 minute
    • 2 minutes
    • 5 minutes
    • 10 minutes

Home screen

Add widget or shortcut

To add a widget or shortcut to the Home screen, follow these steps:

 

  1. Touch and hold a vacant spot on any Home screen.
  2. Select one of the following:
    • Apps
    • Widgets
    • Wallpapers
  3. Touch the screen and slide left or right to view the available options.
  4. Touch and hold the widget or app shortcut that you want to use.
  5. Slide the icon over the desired Home screen, and then release your finger to set.

 

 

Delete widget or shortcut

To delete a widget or shortcut from the Home screen, follow these steps:

 

  1. Touch and hold the widget or app shortcut.
  2. Slide the icon over Remove at the top of the screen.
  3. Release your finger.

 

 

Home screen wallpaper

To change the Home screen wallpaper picture, follow these steps:

 

  1. Touch and hold an empty spot on any Home screen.
  2. Tap Wallpapers.
  3. Choose one of the following options:
    • Select from photos
      1. Tap the Gallery thumbnail
      2. Navigate to and select the photo you want to use.
      3. If desired, adjust picture size and crop area by moving the blue borders.
      4. Tap OK.
    • Use a live wallpaper
      1. Tap the Live Wallpapers thumbnail
      2. Select the live wallpaper you want to use.
      3. Tap Apply.
    • Use a multi-photo wallpaper
      1. Tap the Multi-photo thumbnail.
      2. Tap add image(s).
      3. Select the wallpaper you want to use.
    • Use a default wallpaper
      1. Touch the row of thumbnails and slide left to view more wallpapers.
      2. Select the wallpaper you want to use.

 

 

Lock screen wallpaper

To change the lock screen wallpaper picture, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menumenu key medium.pngkey.
  2. Tap Lock screen settings.
  3. Tap Wallpaper.
    Note: A screen lock must be enabled to view this setting.
  4. Select one of the following options:
    • Gallery
      1. Navigate to and select the photo you want to use.
      2. If desired, adjust picture size and crop area by moving the blue borders.
      3. Tap OK.
    • Wallpaper gallery
      1. Touch the screen and slide left or right to select the desired wallpaper.
      2. Tap Set wallpaper.

Keyboard

Change default keyboard

Note: You cannot change the default keyboard. However, you can change the input settings for the LG keyboard.


To change the default keyboard settings, follow these steps:


  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menumenu key medium.pngkey.
  2. Tap System settings.
  3. Tap General.
  4. Scroll to 'PERSONAL,' and then tap Language & input.
  5. Tap Default.
  6. Tap Setup input methods.
  7. Next to 'LG Keyboard,' tap the Settings icon.
  8. Select or clear the following options:
    • Word suggestion
    • Auto capitalization
    • Auto punctuation
    • Voice input
    • Path input
    • Handwriting
    • Keyboard gesture
  9. Tap Additional settings to adjust these settings as necessary:
    • Extend keyboard
    • Vibrate on keypress
    • Sound on keypress
    • Preview on keypress

 

 

Enter symbols & numbers

To enter symbols and numbers with the keyboard, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the alphabet keyboard, tap the 123? key.
  2. Tap the number and symbol keys as necessary.
  3. Tap the 1/2 key to see more symbols.
  4. Tap the Menu key, and then tap Insert smiley to access emoticons.
  5. Tap the abc key to return to the alphabet keyboard.

 

 

Text entry mode

To change the text entry or predictive text mode, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menumenu key medium.pngkey.
  2. Tap System settings.
  3. Tap General.
  4. Scroll to 'PERSONAL,' and then tap Language & input.
  5. Tap Default.
  6. Tap Setup input methods.
  7. Next to 'LG Keyboard,' tap the Settings icon.
  8. Tap Word suggestion.
  9. Select or clear the following options:
    • Auto correction
    • Suggest next word
    • Advanced word suggestion

 

 

Turn on/off haptic feedback

To turn on or turn off haptic feedback vibration, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menumenu key medium.pngkey.
  2. Tap System settings.
  3. Tap General.
  4. Scroll to 'PERSONAL,' and then tap Language & input.
  5. Tap Default.
  6. Tap Setup input methods.
  7. Next to 'LG Keyboard,' tap the Settings icon.
  8. Scroll down to and tap Additional settings.
  9. Select or clear the Vibrate on keypress check box.

Multitasking

Turn on/off multitasking

QSlide helps you multitask while viewing an app in a small window on the screen that you can drag, expand, or contract. The QSlide function can support up to two windows at the same time.

 

To use QSlide, follow these steps:

 

  1. Open the Notifications panel.
  2. Touch an app from the QSlide apps section.

  1. Use the slider to adjust the transparency of the overlay.

  1. You can make a call, or choose other phone options.
  2. Drag the bottom right corner to increase or to decrease the window size.
  3. Drag the title bar to move the window on screen.
  4. Tap X to exit the QSlide function.

 

Dual Window

This feature allows you to use two apps at the same time.

 

To set up dual window, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menumenu key medium.pngkey.
  2. Tap System settings.
  3. Select the General tab.
  4. Tap Multitasking.
  5. Check the boxes to enable the following options:
    • Slide Aside: Use three finger swipe to save running apps to left or bring them back to the display.
    • Dual Window: Touch and hold the Backback button_small.pngbutton to use two apps at the same time.
    • Split view: Tap a link on the full screen to run dual windows automatically.
