Insert / remove SIM card

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

 

  1. Remove the back cover.

  2. Insert or remove the SIM card.
    Note: The SIM is inserted with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner of the SIM facing out of the slot.

Delete SIM messages

To delete SIM messages, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, select Messages.
  2. Press the Menu key.
  3. Scroll to and select View Folder.
  4. Scroll to and select SMS SIM Card Inbox.
  5. Highlight the desired SIM message.
  6. Press the Menu key.
  7. Scroll to and select Delete.

Mobile Device Unlock

Mobile Device Unlock

The Mobile Device Unlock code allows the device to use a SIM card from another wireless carrier. This may be necessary when traveling internationally. To enter the Mobile Device Unlock code, follow these steps:

 

Important: Stop if you receive an error message. The device may lock permanently if you enter the incorrect code multiple times.

 

  1. See if your phone is eligible to unlock: Mobile Wireless Device Unlocking.
  2. Contact Customer Care to request the Mobile Device Unlock code for your phone.
  3. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  4. Scroll to and select Open Tray.
  5. Scroll to and select Manage Connections.
  6. Select Turn All Connections Off.
  7. Press the red End key.
  8. From the Home screen, scroll to and select All.
  9. Scroll to and select Options.
  10. Scroll to and select Device.
  11. Scroll to and select Advanced System Settings.
  12. Scroll to and select SIM Card.
  13. Enter MEPD (the letters will not appear on the screen as you type).
  14. Enter MEP2 (the letters will not appear on the screen as you type).
    • Note: To enter the number 2, press Alt + E/2.
    • Alternatively, Hold Alt and enter MEP2.
  15. Enter the unlock code.
  16. Turn off the device.
  17. Turn on the device.
