Back up data

Back up apps

To back up your apps, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Accounts and sync.
  4. Tap the account you would like to sync.
  5. Tap to select or clear the desired check boxes.
  6. Tap Sync now.

 

 

Back up contacts

We're sorry, this feature is no longer available after the 4.0 update.

 

 

Back up media & pictures

To back up your media and pictures, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect the USB cord to the phone, then to a computer.
  2. Touch the Status bar and drag down to open the Notification screen.
  3. Tap USB connected.
  4. Tap Turn on USB storage.
  5. On your computer, click Open folder to view files and click OK.
  6. You will see another Removable Disk window, click Open folder to view files and click OK again.
  7. Note: One folder shows files saved in your phone memory and one folder shows files saved on your SD card.
  8. Locate the folder that contains files saved on your SD card.
  9. Cut or copy and paste the desired file(s) from your SD card to your computer.
  10. When done, on your phone, tap Disconnect storage from PC.

Restore apps

To restore backed up apps, follow these steps:

 

Applications will restore automatically the next time your Gmail account is used to sign into the device.

 

 

Restore contacts

To restore backed up contacts, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Accounts and sync.
  4. Tap MobileLife Contacts.
  5. Tap to select the Sync Contacts check box, if necessary.
  6. Tap Sync now.

 

 

Restore media & pictures

To restore backed up media and pictures, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect the USB cord to the phone, then to a computer.
  2. Touch the Status bar and drag down to open the Notification screen.
  3. Tap USB connected.
  4. Tap Turn on  USB storage.
  5. On your computer, click Open folder to view files and click OK.
  6. You will see another Removable Disk window, click Open folder to view files and click OK again.
  7. Note: One folder shows files saved in your phone memory and one folder shows files saved on your SD card.
  8. Locate the folder that contains files saved on your SD card.
  9. Locate the file(s) you want to move on your computer.
  10. Cut or copy and paste the desired file(s) from your computer to your SD card.
  11. When done, on your phone, tap Disconnect storage from PC.
