Ringtones & notifications: Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G (T769)

    Learn how to set custom ringtones and notifications on the [Device Name].

     

     

     

     

    Notifications

     

    To change the notification sounds, follow these steps:

     

    1. Transfer the music song or sound file to the correct folder as shown above.
    2. From the Home screen, touch Applications.
    3. Touch Settings.
    4. Touch Sound.
    5. Scroll down under Notifications, touch Notification sound.
    6. Scroll to the music or sound file you copied to the phone.
    7. Touch the the desired notification or alert sound.
    8. Touch Apply.

     

     

    Ringtones

    To change the ringtone, follow these steps:

     

    Ringtone for all calls

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap Sound.
    4. Tap Phone ringtone.
    5. Tap the desired ringtone.
    6. Tap OK.

     

    Ringtone for calls from one contact

    1. Open Contacts or People on the phone.
    2. Touch the desired contact.
    3. Scroll down and touch Ringtone.
    4. Touch a ringtone that you want for that caller. It will not apply to all callers.

     

     

    Transfer music or sounds to use

     

    Some devices require you to transfer music, sounds, or other audio files to the device in a certain way for it to be used for ringtones and notifications. To transfer these files, follow these steps:

     

    Transfer - PC

    1. Connect the device to a computer using the USB cable.
    2. From the Home screen, slide down the Notification bar.
    3. Verify the USB connection type is Disk drive. If not, tap it and select Disk drive.
    4. On the computer when the Removable Disk window appears, click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer.

      Note: If the Removable Disk window does not appear automatically, check that the USB cable is completely plugged in, or try another USB port.

    5. Click OK.
    6. In the Windows Explorer window that opens, double-click the Media folder.
    7. Double-click one of the following folders:

      Note: If the folder that you want is not there, then right-click in the Media folder. Click New, Folder. Enter the name of the desired folder above. Double-click the folder you just created.

      • Ringtones
      • Alarms
      • Audio/Notifications (Go under the Audio folder and then the Notifications folder)

    8. Copy the music or sound files from your computer to the desired folder.
    9. When you are done copying, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray.
    10. Click Safely Remove Mass Storage Device.
    11. Click OK.
    12. Disconnect the device from the computer.

     

    Transfer - Mac

    1. If necessary, navigate to samsung.com/kies, click DOWNLOAD FOR MAC OS and follow the prompts to download the Kies software.
    2. Connect USB cable to the phone, then to a computer.
      Note: If necessary, touch the Status bar and drag it down, tap Connected as a media device and then tapMedia device to select the check box.
    3. On your computer, open Kies.
    4. Inside Kies, choose one of the following options:
      Note: You can also click Music located under your device's name.
      • To the right of 'Internal memory,' click the Folder folder icon.jpg icon. Navigate to where you want to add the music our sound file to your device's internal memory.
      • To the right of 'External memory,' click the Folder folder icon.jpg icon. Navigate to where you want to add the music or sound file to your SD card.
    5. On your computer, navigate to the desired music or sound file.
    6. Drag and drop the music files into Kies.
    7. When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.

     

    Ringtone list - add transferred music or sound file

    Note: Using your device, you can add the new music or sound file to your ringtone list.

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
    2. Tap My files.
    3. Tap All files.
    4. Navigate to the desired music or sound file that you transfered.
      Note: 'sdcard0' is your device's internal memory and 'extsdCard' is your external memory card.
    5. Touch and hold on the file and then tap Copy.
    6. Tap sdcard0.
    7. Tap the Notifications folder.
    8. Tap Paste here. The music or sound file is now added to your Default notifications list in alphabetical order.

     

    Notification list - add transferred music or sound file

    Note: Using your device, you can add the new music or sound file to your notification list.
    1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
    2. Tap My files.
    3. Tap All files.
    4. Navigate to the desired music or sound file that you transfered.
      Note: 'sdcard0' is your device's internal memory and 'extsdCard' is your external memory card.
    5. Touch and hold on the file and then tap Copy.
    6. Tap sdcard0.
    7. Tap the Notifications folder.
    8. Tap Paste here. The music or sound file is now added to your Default notifications list in alphabetical order.
