Account

Add an email account manually

To set up an email account and manually enter the settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the General tab.
  4. Tap Accounts.
  5. Tap Add account.
  6. Tap Email.
  7. Enter your email address and password.
  8. Tap Manual setup.
  9. Tap one of the following options:
    • POP3 account
    • IMAP account
    • Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
  10. Edit incoming email configuration settings, as necessary.
  11. Tap Next.
  12. Edit outgoing email configuration settings, as necessary.
  13. Tap Next .
  14. Set the email check frequency, retrieval size, and notification options, as desired.
  15. Tap Next .
  16. Enter an account name (optional).
  17. Inside the Your name field, if desired, update the display name appearing on your outgoing messages. This field must be filled out to finish adding your email account.
  18. Tap Done.

 

 

Add a Gmail account

To set up a Gmail email account, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap the Google bundle.
  3. Tap Gmail.
    Note: If you have already logged in to a Gmail account and want to log into an additional account, tap the Menu key, tap Settings,  tap the General tab, tap Accounts and then tap Add account.
  4. Tap Existing.
    Note: You can also tap New and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new Google account.
  5. Tap the Email field to open the on-screen keyboard.
  6. Enter your email and password.
  7. Tap the Next arrow.
  8. Read the message and then tap OK.
  9. Read the 'Backup and restore' information and then tap the Next arrow.
  10. Tap Sync now or Sync settings, or else wait a few moments and your email will appear.

 

 

Delete an email account

To delete an email account, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the General tab.
  4. Under 'Accounts,' tap the account type (for example, Google or Email).
  5. Tap your email address at the top of the screen.
  6. Tap Remove account.
  7. Tap Remove account again to confirm.

Inbox

Incoming email notification

To turn on and turn off email notifications, follow these steps:

 

Gmail

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Gmail.
  3. Tap the Menu key and then tap Settings.
  4. Tap your email address.
  5. To turn off, tap Notifications to clear the check box.
  6. To turn on, tap Notifications to select the check box.
  7. Tap Sound & vibrate to adjust the desired notification settings including the following settings:
    • Tap Sound to select the notification tone.
    • Tap Vibrate to select or clear the check box and turn on or turn off vibrate notification.

Email

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Email.
  3. Tap the Menu key and then tap Settings.
  4. Tap your email address.
  5. To turn off, tap Email notifications to clear the check box.
  6. To turn on, tap Email notifications to select the check box.
  7. Tap Select ringtone (to tap, your device volume must be above zero) to select the notification tone.
  8. Tap Vibrate to select or clear the check box and and turn on or turn off vibrate notification.

Message

Attach a file and send an email

To attach files to email messages, follow these steps:

 

Gmail

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Gmail
    Note
    : If the email account you want to use is not the Inbox currently displayed, tap Inbox at the top of the screen and then tap the deisred account.
  3. Tap the Compose icon.
  4. At To, enter the recipient’s email address. If sending to a contact, tap the the email address when it pops up.
  5. If necessary, enter an email subject and email message in the Subject and Compose email fields.
  6. Tap the Menu key and then tap either Attach picture or Attach video.
  7. Tap one of the following options for accessing your attachment (by default, your pictures and videos are stored in the Gallery):
    • Gallery
    • Dropbox
  8. Navigate to and tap the desired picture or video.
  9. Tap the Send icon (arrow).

Email

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Email
    Note
    : If the email account you want to use is not the Inbox currently displayed, tap Inbox at the top of the screen and then tap the deisred account.
  3. Tap the Compose icon.
  4. At To, enter the recipient’s email address. Or if sending to a contact, tap the Contact  icon, tap the desired contact, and then tap Done.
  5. If necessary, enter an email subject and email message in the Subject and email fields.
  6. Tap the Attach icon (paper clip).
  7. Tap the desired attachment type.
    Note: Tap My files to manually search through your device and SD card (if applicable) files.
  8. Navigate to and tap the desired attachment. If necessary, tap Done.

    For images, tap the desired Image resize setting and then tap OK. Smaller images use less data.

  9. Tap the Send email send icon.jpg icon.

 

 

Delete emails

To delete email messages, follow these steps:

 

Gmail

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Gmail.
    Note: If the email account you want to use is not the Inbox currently displayed, tap Inbox at the top of the screen and then tap the desired account.
  3. To the left of each desired message to be deleted, tap the check box to select the check box.
  4. Tap the Trash can icon to delete.

Email

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Email.
    Note: If the email account you want to use is not the Inbox currently displayed, tap Inbox at the top of the screen and then tap the desired account.
  3. To the left of each desired message deleted, tap the check box to select the check box.
  4. Tap the Trash can icon and then tap Delete.
