Set custom sounds

Notifications

To change the notification sounds, follow these steps:

 

  1. Transfer the music, song, or sound file to a folder on the device or SD card.
  2. From the Home screen, select Menu.
  3. Scroll to and select Settings.
  4. Select Profiles.
  5. Scroll to one of the following sound profiles:
    • General
    • Outdoor
    • Indoor
  6. Select Options.
  7. Scroll down to and select Customize.
  8. Scroll down to the Message Beep field.
  9. Select Edit.
  10. Select from the following:
    • Phone
    • SD Card
  11. Navigate to and select the audio file that you want to use.
  12. Select Save.

 

 

Ringtones

To change the ringtone, follow these steps:

 

Ringtone for all calls

  1. Transfer the music, song, or sound file to a folder on the device or SD card.
  2. From the Home screen, select Menu.
  3. Scroll to and select Settings.
  4. Select Profiles.
  5. Scroll to one of the following sound profiles:
    • General
    • Outdoor
    • Indoor
  6. Select Options.
  7. Scroll down to and select Customize.
  8. Scroll down to the Ringtone field.
  9. Select Edit.
  10. Select from the following:
    • Phone
    • SD Card
  11. Navigate to and select the audio file that you want to use.
    Note: If you transferred the audio file to the Audio folder, select Phone > Audio.
  12. Select Save.

 

Ringtone for calls from one contact

  1. Transfer the music, song, or sound file to a folder on the device or SD card.
  2. From the Home screen, select Contacts.
  3. Scroll to and select the contact you want to edit.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Scroll down to the Ringtone field.
  6. Scroll right or left and select Files.
  7. Select from the following:
    • Phone
    • SD Card
  8. Navigate to and select the ringtone that you want to use.
  9. Select Options.
  10. Select Save.
  11. Select Yes.

Transfer

Transfer music or sounds to use

Some devices require you to transfer music, sounds, or other audio files to the device in a certain way to be used for ringtones and notifications. To transfer these files, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the USB cable. A 'USB Config' prompt will display.
  2. Scroll down to and select Mass Storage.
  3. On your PC computer, choose one of the following options:
    • If you're using Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP, open Windows Explorer from the taskbar.
    • If you're using Windows 8, go to Desktop view, and then open File Explorer from the taskbar.
  4. In Windows Explorer or File Explorer, under 'Computer,' click your phone's name.
  5. Double-click the Audio folder.
  6. In another Windows Explorer or File Explorer window, navigate to the file(s) you want to transfer.
  7. Drag and drop the file(s) you want to transfer from your computer to the appropriate folder on your phone.
  8. When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.
