Insert / remove SIM card

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

 

  1. Power the phone off.
  2. At the top of the phone, put your thumbnail in the seam between the screen frame and the back cover. Press the middle of the back cover, and bend the cover to loosen the top hooks.

  3. Press and bend the bottom part of the back cover to loosen the side hooks, and remove the cover.

  4. Lift the battery out using the notch located at the bottom of the compartment.

  5. Insert the SIM card.

  6. Replace the back cover.

  To remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

  1. Power the phone off.

  5. Slide the SIM card out of the slot as shown.

Mobile Device Unlock

Mobile Device Unlock

The Mobile Device Unlock code allows the device to use a SIM card from another wireless carrier. This may be necessary when traveling internationally. To enter the Mobile Device Unlock code, follow these steps:

 

Important: Stop if you receive an error message. The device may lock permanently if you enter the incorrect code multiple times.

 

  1. See if your phone is eligible to unlock: Mobile Wireless Device Unlocking.
  2. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Scroll to and tap about.
  5. Tap more info.
  6. Record your IMEI number.
  7. Contact Customer Care to request the Mobile Device Unlock code for your phone.
  8. Turn on the phone with the non-T-Mobile SIM card. The device displays "Please input unlock code."
  9. The phone displays a screen to enter the unblock code.
  10. Enter the unlock code. If successful, the device displays "Phone is unlocked."
